Well Mallory clearly looked hideous with her blonde hair. I don't think the girls are mean enough to torment her about it. Mary Anne looked adorable with her new haircut in MA's Makeover, they were totally jealous. I mean God forbid anyone but Claudia or Stacey be cute and care about how they look.

Haha... All true. I thought tose older kids hanging with Stace was wierd... MA's overprotectiveness, when she knows how it feels... Kristy, trying to prove a point to the WLKC! Mal's makeover always stuck with me, I wonder what she looked like blonde... with red eyebrows?!

^ Add on the fact that she's 11 and probably did a crap job of putting on her make-up? I love this one! It was one of my absolute favourite BSC books as a kid, and I still really, really enjoy it now. Claudia is so stupid, though, at the French restaurant. First for not knowing what the waiter meant when he said s'il vous plait. Now this is probably me being incredibly biased (as I grew up in Ottawa, a bilingual city, and was forced to take French at school from J.K. until grade nine), but I found it shocking that she'd never heard s.v.p. before. Even if she never took French in school, you'd think she'd have heard before, even if from Janine. But like I said, this is probably me being biased again. Another thing. She turned down Terry's offer to help read the menu before she knew it was in French, but why didn't she ask for help when she realized it was? Or, if she didn't want to seem stupid, why didn't she just order the chicken special, like he did? Seems much more logical than randomly picking something that looked "easy to pronounce." But then, we wouldn't have had the fun of Claudia eating snails!

^ I've never heard of s'il vous plait. Of course, the only French I had was in kindergarten ;D What is it?

It means "please." They probably taught you that in kindergarten, too... but I guess kindergarten was quite a long time ago! ;D

Just reread this one. Agree with the comments about Claudia. The snails scene is hilarious, but that was sad when she was crying in the car after one of their dates and Terry was oblivious. I love though when she calls up Janine and asks about Russia and the greenhouse effect, and Janine is all I forgot how annoying Kristy was in her chapters, thinking she could handle Erick and Ryan and that the WLKC was incompetent, even though they, you know, know these kids. Something in the chapter when Mary Anne agrees to sit for Stephie - the WLKC member who takes the call says that MA, "a good friend of Dawn's" would be sitting for her. Uh, and stepsister. Nice not to mention that when it would probably be some added reassurance for Stephie's dad!

^ Haha! You're definitely not Claudia!
I heart Janine in this one. She's so sweet. I love the postcard she sends, her writing is pretty cool. I thought it was funny when Claudia is so amazed that Janine would like to tour Hollywood and look for stars homes. Geniuses like to have fun, too, Claudia! ;D

^ I think the Janine parts in this one were some of my favorites. Totally agree about the geniuses having fun. Claud always acts like Janine is some type of abnormal freak because she is smart and enjoys learning. I also liked the part really well where they go to Universal. Kristy was kind of annoying with thinking she was "super sitter" but the disorganization of the WLKC would have driven me insane, too. I did think it was funny reading about the awful Dewitt boys at Universal and then Stephie being so brave on Jaws. ;D

I always felt that Claud and co never gave Janine much of a chance... they stereotyped her and that was it. She was a genuis, and would never be anything else, especially fun

Hahaha, that sounds ghastly. I don't know that many redheads, but the ones I know actually have blonde eyebrows. My old lab partner has red hair, and he has been filling his eyebrows in with brown eye shadow since he was 17 (he was having his senior portraits taken, and the photographer informed him that his invisible eyebrows made him look strange).

ugh I hated reading about the DeWitt boys at Universal Studios. They were SO obnoxious. I don't know why they would choose a day to go when they had to bring kids with them. The BSC are insane, as we all know.
