I've had a few ideas for new topics pop into my head in the past few weeks, but forget them when I log in...the perils of getting older Anyway, just wanted to generate some new discussions. What did you find endearing about our favorite girls (and other characters)? For instance, I thought it was endearing that Stacey the sophisticated had such a love for Porky Pig, and she also did needlework (well, maybe just in #8), and read Agatha Christie mysteries. I also thought it was sweet that she formed a bond with quiet Mary Anne.

I found it endearing when Janine admitted she hid candy in her room just like Claudia!

Neat idea I thought it was endearing that Stacey loved Porky Pig, too. All those gifts she got from Laine in Stacey's Emergency were endearing. In Babysitters Remember, in Mallory's most vivid memory, the conversation between Mallory and Mary Anne about books and authors was endearing. The very first BSC meeting was endearing with Kristy coming to Claudia's at 4:30 P.M. Claudia's relationship with Mimi was endearing. There's more, but I can't think of anything else. There were a LOT of endearing moments in the BSC series!

I really thought the kids giving the people at the old folks home toys was just adorable.
Then Maureen and Stacey cleaning in the beginning of the first mystery book.

Not exactly sweet but I thought it was cute that all the sitters aside from Stacey would (mildly) groan and moan about giving up the dues even though they didn't mind it much and knew that it was necessary (and they likely or directly knew that everyone really felt that way).

Great thread!
I loved that Mimi called Claudia My Claudia (maybe not so for Janine) but I think Claud needed that.
I think it was endearing how Richard raised Mary Anne, although I understand how frustrating for her. But I think it showed she was the most important thing in his life.
I think Kristy and Karen's sisterhood was sweet, and wonder how that changed as they grew.

I think Kristy and Karen's sisterhood was sweet, and wonder how that changed as they grew. It's endearing how Kristy can't stand Watson at first and gradually comes to care for him over time, and it's all presented very realistically, and then when he has the heart attack in Kristy and Mr. Mom, she refers to him as "my father" when she's on the phone with the 911 operator, without even thinking about it.

I agree about Kristy and Watson. Their relationship was gradual yet sweet.
