Tara said that her and Faye's older sister Autumn was a counselor. I assume she was refering to Mallory and Jessi's counselor which is interesting because Faye and Tara were so obnoxious while Autumn seemed pretty nice. I kind of wish we had learned more about Autumn.

I'm going to have to look them up. Althought it will probably just make me all wistful and wishing I had gone to camp as a kid!

^ Agree, too. I also wish we would have learned more about Autumn and some of the other counselers who seemed pretty nice.

Anyone else wish they had real summer camp for people in their 20's? I think I'm too old to even be a counselor at this point!

They kind of do. There's spa retreats and stuff like that.

I like spa vacations. I don't think I would want to go back to camp at this age. Maybe it's because I spent way too much time being herded around at summer camp, but I just don't want to go somewhere with planned activities.

I liked camp when I went, but when I look back, I realize that there's no way I could do it again. I mean, playing soccer and running around in 80-degree weather, sleeping on a crappy bed with no air conditioning, etc? Heck no. Which is too bad, 'cause it was a ton of fun as a kid. I'm still not sure how I became so darn sensitive to heat...I guess I'm getting old.

I would love to go to something like Knitting Camp... because apparently I am Mary Anne.

The only camps I ever went to were space camp, basketball camps and Girls State where we stayed in dorms. I don't know if I would have liked staying in a cabin for a week.

I loved it, but I went to the horseback riding division of my summer camp, and we had brand new cabins with bathrooms. That might have had something to do with it.

^ Where was that? I have heard of riding camp before but don't know much about it. The ones around here aren't overnight ones. Do you ride, other than that? Sorry, getting off topic. ;D As for this book, does Heather from Dawn's cabin remind anyone else of one of the girls (can't remember her name right now) from Camp Sunnyside Friends? It drives me crazy that they always make the overweight one the one who likes to read. Some thin people do like to read all of the time, too. ;D I think presenting the stereotype the way they do, books almost discourage reading.

^ I went to summer camp outside of Seattle. It had all sorts of different units, all focused on different sports and activities. There was general camp, too. I always wanted to take riding lessons, but never got to. Camp was my only chance! I never read Camp Sunnyside Friends, but I always sort of liked Heather. She was almost written in a way that would lead the reader to think she was as weird as her fellow campers did, but I never did. I actually identified with her liking to read, and not being a swimmer.

^ I liked Heather, too, and identified with her (not the being overweight and unathletic but the swimming dislike and enjoying reading). ;D I was glad she showed the others how smart she was when they got lost.
