This is one of my favourite LS books. It combines: a sleepover, a best friend feud, the introduction of Pamela Harding (and her cool outfits that include *gasp* a hat indoors!) a thunderstorm and a blackout!

I read this book in 2nd grade, it's one of the first Little Sister books I read. For my reading class, the teacher gave us the assignment of writing a postcard to a book character. Since I had just read this, I chose to write one to Karen!
The main point I brought up in the postcard was "Why did you invite Pamela to your sleepover?" XD Then again, Karen didn't realize she was a total Plastic before she invited her, right?

Sounds like a really fun assignment! I would have written to Pamela, I have a lot of questions for her in that book! Same with paranoid Nancy.

I wish I still had the assignment! But it was so long ago LOL. All I remember was writing to Karen, wanting to know why she would invite Pamela to her sleepover.
And as ridiculous as Nancy acted, that was kind of cold for Karen to proclaim "YOU'RE UNINVITED!" after Nancy received her invitation at last heh.

So has anyone seen the Brady Brunch episode where Marcia throws a sleepover? I caught the end of it this afternoon and it seemed so much like this book. Marcia got in trouble at school for something, and invited a friend (I guess the one that got her in trouble) to the party late. Plus the boys wanted to scare them with masks -- didn't Sam sneak up behind them in the dark with a mask?

I'm re-reading this again. Nancy is such a brat. Karen told her, she was still invite to the sleepover. Even her invitation didn't came in the mail.
Pamela is annoying. She acts like she's 13 years old, instead of seven.
I thought, it was creepy Sam was checking out a 7 year old. That's too young. Now, if they were in their 30's. They can go out. Just 8 years difference. Seeing Pamela & Sam dating in their 30's. Oh boy. Sam, will probably date her once. Find other girl to date with.
Can you imagine Pamela throwing sleep over party, at her house. Would she do the same thing, she did at Karen's sleepover party or the opposite?
More later........

Ha, I always kinda thought Sam was, too. When Pamela arrived at the house and Sam saw her, he whispered "dweeb" into Karen's ear. That could be interpreted as Sam thinking Pamela looked good. I don't think he was seriously checking her out, but then again he did date Stacey. He was open to younger women.

Finish the book. Notices error in the book. It's on page 98-99
I'm copying it from the book, I own.
"Oh, Hannie! We had your copy of the pact," I said. The night before, Nancy and I had given the pact to Nancy's daddy. Mr. Dawes had made two copies of it on his copy machine at home. One copy was for Nancy and one was for Hannie. I kept the real pact, the one we had actually signed. "Thanks,' said Nancy, when I gave her the copy. Then Nancy pulled her copy out of the pocket of her jeans. I pulled the real pact out of my knapsack.
Why would Nancy say thank you? When her dad copied the pact, the night before. She already had her copied. Has anyone notices this mistake, in their book?
