I was reading through next generation fics and I have an unpopular opinion/pet peeve, but I absolutely hate the idea of Karen starting another BSC.
She seems like the time to flit from one thing to another or do drama.
When Karen starts another BSC, it immediately turns me off and I'm not reading that fic.
I think it would be the original BSC who starts the next generation in my timeline.
I see Becca as the president and Karen as the veep and Charlotte as either the secretary or treasurer and Vanessa as either the secretary or maybe event coordinator.
I suspect Hannie and Nancy would be in the club also as alternate officers...maybe Betsy Soback if she's settled down from her pranks from her earlier days.
I suspect Karen will have settled down and matured by middle school.
And she would
definitely have realized by then that Tabitha Porter is a muggle after all, LOL.π

Watson, Lisa and Elizabeth seemed to be guiding Karen in the right direction...after all, Watson and Elizabeth did have Karen apologize in writing to Tabitha for interrupting her garden meeting in
Karen's Witch.
Even Mary Anne explained once to Karen that the word
rapscallion meant a small, mischievous creature and that it was not a magical spell.
In
Karen's Plane Ride, although Karen is a bit culture-shocked at her grandparents' rustic, rather old-fashioned farm that had no television and no computers and she had to go to bed and get up early, she doesn't create any drama or throw loud tantrums.
She just decides to learn
why her grandparents seemed so old-fashioned and ends up learning a lot, having a great time and making a new friend.
I think Karen would have settled down into maybe being in plays and occasionally telling funny, dramatic stories.
I see the next generation as Becca the president, Karen the vice-president and them having the meetings in her room, maybe Charlotte as the treasurer like Stacey and Vanessa as the secretary and Nancy and Hannie as the alternate officers.
Perhaps if Betsy Sobak has matured from her prankster days, she could be part of the new BSC.
Rosie Wilder is another possibility if she's hopefully not still over-scheduled.
The original BSC would oversee their meetings that summer after they graduate from high school before they leave for university.
Then that late August once Kristy and company leave Stoneybrook for uni and adulthood, it would be Becca telling the next generation of the BSC
This meeting of the BSC will now come to order.
Perhaps Karen as the new host and veep would then be the one passing out the treats! ππππ
Also includes Vanessa and Haley as well, Vanessa's likely baby-sitting at home and probably wants to get away from it. I don't trust Haley after little liar.
Yeh, Haley, I'm not so sure of. Perhaps if she becomes more trustworthy by middle school.
If not, then I agree that it's definitely a no-go for Haley.

Four other pet peeves in fanfiction that I have and that I see too much of...
Kristy being portrayed as arch-conservative, judgemental and loudly criticizing anyone who drinks, has sex or goes to "older-edge" parties.
Two is fanfics that have Kristy overly anxious, clingy, fearful and terrified of change.
The fics have the BSC break up and have only Kristy be all devastated and depressed and have her all afraid of high school and all afraid to grow up.
A silly bit of fanfiction I read had Kristy sitting huddled in the bathroom toilet crying and feeling as if her life is all over because her first period came. Really. π©π©π©π©
A third pet peeve in fanfictions I have is the fanfictions that depict Stacey is either snobbish, ditzy or an empty-headed "bimbo" who only interests are shopping for clothes and flirting.
An outgrowth of this pet peeve is the one that have Stacey is this huge show-off also.
Come on, Stacey is
not Jessica Wakefield and is
not Lila Fowler!
She's better than that in book canon...sure, she used to be a bit boy-crazy in the early books and is fashionable, but she has many other interests besides boys and clothes.
Those fanfics too often overlook that she's a math genius, loves to read, finds video production fascinating and is an honor student at school.
A fourth fanfic pet peeve I have is the ones that depict Mary Anne and Dawn allegedly "hating" each other.
There is no basis in book canon for that...any fights they had were normal fights any set of siblings have, especially those close in age and of the same gender.
Soooo...those are four of my fanfic pet peeves.
