Where do you see Kristy living as an adult?

None of these. Maybe Stamford. Stoneybrook. She’s not moving to the Midwest for no reason. Statistically most people live pretty close to where they grew up. They might move away for college, work a few jobs in other places, and eventually settle back in their home state.

They might move away for college, work a few jobs in other places, and eventually settle back in their home state. True about most people, but then again, Kristy isn't most people. It is true that she would not move to the midwest for no reason...a university scholorship or business opportunity would definitely be great reasons for Kristy to head to a midwestern city either for university or in adulthood, especially if Claudia heads there for either uni or for business. I definitely see both Kristy and Claudia becoming business owners and often working together. But if not the midwest for Kristy, what about New York City? That's just a short hop, skip and a jump away from Stoneybrook. After all, indications are pretty strong that Mary Anne ends up in NYC both for university and for adulthood. It really would be no surprise to see Kristy end up settling there also...lots of business opportunities. Kristy definitely strikes me as CEO business-corporation-owner-making millions material. And not only would she and Mary Anne live close by one another, Mona Vaughn and Randy Zak, whom the BSC met in high school are living there also. So, Kristy would be in good company in NYC. ☺☺☺☺

None of these, I see her staying in stoneybrook to be near her family. sparklymouse, that’s interesting! I’ve never heard of those statistics before, I wonder if that would be the case for a lot of the clients and kids at SMS when they get older.

None of these, I see her staying in Stoneybrook to be near her family. I wonder why? Kristy is very ambitious and adventurous and although she loves her family dearly, she would want to explore the world just like most of the others in the BSC. And all the BSC, including Kristy, can still see their families every so often. I can see a few of the non-BSC characters possibly remaining in Stoneybrook or living in Stamford or Hartford in adulthood...maybe Sam or Charlie...perhaps two of the Pike triplets...perhaps Grace Blume and maybe even Cokie would get kicked out of uni and end up returning to Stoneybrook and working at the Road Spud Cafe, Logan's joint...hee.😅😅 Maybe Ms. Porter, Karen's neighbor is one who's lived happily in Stoneybrook all her life. 😁😁😁 NYC and Boston are ideal for most of the BSC because it's where they'd go for career opportunities and university scholarships, but they'd still be able to see their families. Several of my sisters live out of state, yet all of them frequently come back to NYC for holidays and special occasions. Yes, many people do live in the same city or town all their lives, but twice as many people don't. In my case, I've lived in huge NYC all my life, but not in the same neighborhood and neither do any of my former high school classmates. Lots of my family live all over the world, despite most of us growing up in NYC. About half of my classmates no longer live in New York State at all. I think a dynamite go-getter like Kristy would not be content merely staying in Stoneybrook and never traveling anywhere. She definitely does not strike me as the sort who would be "afraid" to leave her parents' home either. I can actually see her traveling to Europe like most of the rest of the BSC, to Asia and to the middle east. And I still see a midwestern city being possible for her...she could go to uni there on scholorship or pursue business opportunities in either Chicago, Detroit or Minneapolis. I like to keep my mind open when mapping out the BSC characters' lives. Sparklymouse... Nancydawes...let me ask you both this...out of curiosity...do you mainly see the BSC mostly sticking by Stoneybrook in adulthood? Just wondering.💡💡💡

I see Kristy staying in stoneybrook to be close to her family and she hates change. I can see her traveling but calling stoneybrook her home base. I can see Mary Anne coming back after living in other places. Umm that’s it on the top of my head.

I can see Mary Anne coming back after living in other places. Umm that’s it on the top of my head. I see. I think it's outside change foisted on her that Kristy had hated as a child. But changes that she participates in or that she makes...she's fine with it. Kristy is not a fearful, anxious, emotionally needy, clingy person. Leaving for uni and embarking on adulthood would be exciting for her, not traumatic. Also, remember that her siblings would also launch into adulthood and likely leave Stoneybrook also. People, including families, do not have to remained joined at the hip to remain emotionally close. Mary Anne, in a way, I can see because she is more fearful than Kristy and Mary Anne has a harder time adjusting to change than Kristy. But New York City is familiar to both Kristy and Mary Anne...that city is not alien to them. Remember how often the BSC visited NYC in the books? Also, let's not forget how close New York City is to Stoneybrook...only a half hour or so train ride. Kristy and Mary Anne always had a great time...they were not fearful or unsettled by NYC. I happen to think that Kristy and Mary Anne would both feel right at home in the Big Apple. And if they missed their folks back in Stoneybrook, they'd hop on the train and head back to the old town for a weekend. NYC is ideal for both of them, IMHO and I think they would enjoy living there. Both ladies, while being close to their families, are independent and resourceful and have no need to look to others to "fulfill" them. They have full lives with satisfying careers and families they've created on their own.

I happen to think that Kristy and Mary Anne would both feel right at home in the Big Apple. This works both ways. They could commute for whatever careers you think they need to have in the city and not actually live there. People pick suburbs for reasons. Enjoying visiting somewhere is not the same as wanting to live there. Honestly the states on the East coast are so small and squished together that they could live in any of them and get to where they want to quickly. Your poll includes 4 Midwestern cities and a foreign country, which I just don't see happening.

Your poll includes 4 Midwestern cities and a foreign country, which I just don't see happening. Not everyone is crazy about the suburbs...I'm not. And contrary to popular misconception, both New York City and DC are very family-friendly places. And not all east coast states are small...New York state and Pennsylvania are quite large. Many people tend to romanticize the suburbs too much. Some people like suburbs; others prefer living in the city; some like the country. I still see Mary Anne living in NYC. I actually have written a few fanfics on Kristy and Mary Anne's uni years in NYC and on Mary Anne raising two daughters and teaching in NYC. Mary Anne would make an excellent teacher and counselor to inner-city kids, especially those who come from impovershed and/or troubled homes. I also still like the idea of Kristy and Claudia living in the Midwest...those two are the most adventuresome and boldest of the BSC. Those are my thoughts on those three. Kristy and Claudia, both resourceful, creative individuals, can totally create new career fodder out there in the midwest. I see both of them as business owners and CEOs working for themselves. One reason I love the idea of Mary Anne living in the city and not a suburb is that she would not want to drive or ride a train a long way every single weekmorning and every single weeknight, especially if she has kids. I think she would want to be able to walk or take a short ten-minute bus ride home after a long, tiring day and spend quality time with her daughters. New York City is gorgeous, so I wouldn't be so quick to knock the Big Apple. Lady Liberty is the most beautiful statue I have ever seen in my life...pictures don't do her justice. Many people successfully raise families in downtown Manhattan and in the most urban parts of the city. I have two friends who successfully raised their families in a very urban part of northeast DC. Have you ever been to New York City or DC at all?

She could have a big multi-room home in the midwest as well. 😁😁😁
I see Kristy having a huge family also...ten or so kids in addition to her multi-million dollar international corporation.

No, I’ve never been to NYC or DC. I’ve been to MINNEAPOLIS MINNESOTA many times, which quite honestly you are “romanticizing”. It’s not all that. I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life, and your fixation on it is funny as hell to me.

I've lived in NYC all my life and never grow tired of admiring the city. Sometimes I like to trek to upstate New York, especially in the autumn and winter. I have a couple of friends in upstate New York and one in Buffalo. Buffalo has wonderful snows in the winter, often for Hanukkah and Christmas. Kristy and Claudia and their families would have a blast in the Minnesota snows in the winter. 🌨😁🌨😁🌨😁🌨😁🌨😁

Finally...true that Kristy and Claudia love to ski, so they'd love Colorado as well. 😀😀😀 A high school classmate and non-BSC friend of the BSC lives in Colorado today and loves it.
