I was curious about what others thought about the various covers used for the BSC movie poster, VHS, and DVD.
I remember being slightly annoyed way back when because the VHS cover was inaccurate, since it only featured Dawn, Mary Anne, and Stacey. Not only that, but Luca is front and center, making it look like he's the main character! I wonder if this was an intentional choice to draw in viewers not familiar with the series, since it would emphasize both male and female characters and therefore not be seen as just a "girls'" movie?

I find it hilarious that Luca gets the center position when he doesn't exist in the series. And Kristy is the main character of the movie and she's not on the cover at all! I'm sure you are right that they wanted to emphasize the boys, but I think the goal was to attract girls who weren't fans of the series but would watch because the boys were hot.
The movie poster is the image I associate with the film. Dawn's outfit is adorable here. But this is also the one with the worst photoshopping in my opinion.
Yes, it's weird that Luca is so prominent and even more so that he looks so happy like a big longstanding friend. Or from just the image I might also think that was Alan and that his expression was somewhat mischievous. Though it's too bad others weren't included I like Mary Anne and Dawn's depiction and closeness.
The DVD cover is OK, trying a bit too hard to look profound and significant but OK showing of the characters aside from that Kristy looks too careless.
I really like to Movie Poster, I don't mind the one with the swing, but the movie poster is much better. The VHS cover is a bit funny in the choice of characters and doesn't really scream BSC to me, but probably for someone not familiar with the books, it would have been more appealing.
I wondered whether flies have families. I wondered whether flies have family reunions, because family reunions are almost always picnics, and at a flies’ picnic, how could you tell the guest flies from the regular, uninvited flies who just want to land on the food for a while? ~ Claudia
