I thought it was so weird that they called Dr. Dellenkamp (probably at home?, on the weekend) who then rushed into the ER to meet them. I don't think that they called her as a personal friend, either. (And she did nothing. The "Bone Doctor" did it all.) It was cool that Kristy was so interested in hospitals and medicine. They should have explored that more. Everyone thinks that she'll become a principal or teacher, but she could work in pediatrics. Then Karen randomly told Andrew that something on the wall was Merthiolate. I had to look that up, lol.
Ricky broke his ankle, had a cast up to mid thigh, and only had to be in it for 6 weeks vs. Karen's 8 weeks. I know nothing about broken bones. Searching told me that it typically takes 6-12 weeks to heal and that kid bones usually heal quicker than adult. Ricky should be able to bend his knee, lol.
Everyone wrote such long paragraphs on Karen's cast. I don't recall ever signing one, but they look kinda difficult to write on. I don't think that her little arm would have the room. I liked all of the paw/claw prints, Morbidda and Midnight, and Max. ("Hi from Max")
I also liked Max's 6 degrees of separation to try to find Karen a famous person. (His classmate's aunt had a friend who went to a hairdresser who once cut Frances Morton's hair. Except nobody knew for sure if Frances was an actual famous person.) Hannie's parents knew the dog catcher and the mayor. Lisa was friends with a movie star. Watson strangely knew nobody famous or powerful.
