Not fashion-related but the cover of Karen's Kite always bugged me because Karen's fish kite doesn't look like that, she makes it look like an actual fish LOL

Karen's Unicorn. Karen's outfit to the circus was new jeans, pink-and-white unicorn sweatshirt, pink socks, white sneakers, and a pink-and-white scrunchie. I've noticed that Karen always had a shirt to match the theme of what she was doing.

Karen's School Picture. I liked Karen's outfit for picture day. It looks like a blouse and skirt on the cover, but it was a one-piece dress. It was a solid blue long sleeve button up top with a blue and black buffalo check skirt.
Nancy's outfit sounded epic for a close-up school picture. A red sweater over a white blouse. On the collar of the blouse were red flowers with green leaves. Tied on one side of her head was a huge red bow. (Looking at the cover, it was in fact huge.)
I like looking at the clothes of all of the kids on the cover. The girl behind Karen has a top that looks like Strawberry Shortcake's hat. The kid next to her looks underdressed in a yellow graphic sweatshirt. The girl next to him looks like she's wearing the same top as Karen. Then there's a girl in a white shirt with what looks like a cow or a sheep wrapped in pink and blue ribbons.

I had to look up buffalo check. I didn’t know that’s what it was called.
Sheep were IN back then; Princess Diana was photographed in a sheep sweater. (Excuse me, jumper)

Karen's School Bus. I appreciate Karen's little theme outfit for her first day of bus riding. Black leggings, yellow socks, black sneakers, and a yellow taxi cab sweater. (She would have worn a bus sweater, but she didn't own one. She hoped she would not hurt the bus driver's feelings.)

Karen's Baby-Sitter. Karen's outfit for her date with Bart and Kristy was a blue jean skirt, a turtleneck shirt with red hearts (this book was randomly around Valentine's Day), white tights, flop socks, and a pair of new sneakers. What are flop socks? Natalie's socks? I looked it up and flip-flop socks came up. Those made me scream.

Aren't flop socks the same ones the BSC wore? Like the push-down kind? I remember Mallory being super excited to find them at the mall in one book

I looked up flop socks because I'm not familiar with the term. Look at this.

That's what I saw when I searched! They look like hooves, and who wears socks with flip flops?!

(Click on her to make her bigger.) I think that Grandma B looks like a cutie on the cover of Karen's Grandmothers. I really enjoy the pattern of her dress. Americans don't embrace hats as much as they should. I like the bow on front and the pearl (?) studs in her ears. The only thing I would scrap are the beige witch shoes.

Karen's Roller Skates. Karen had a stylish little outfit that she wore specifically for roller skating. She even said that she only had the one outfit, so she had to remember to bring it back and forth between houses. Shorts with a stripe up each leg, red-and-white striped socks, a red and white jersey, and red headband, wrist guards, knee pads, and red skates with yellow wheels. (Negative Nancy said that they wouldn't be yellow for long.)
Her first post-arm break outfit was totally normal (blue jeans and pink unicorn shirt) except she wore moccasins. I know Ann picked something that didn't have shoelaces, but that threw me for a loop. When I think of moccasins, I think of fancy Native American beading. I'm sure Karen's were like plain pink or white.

Karen’s Worst Day. Karen wanted to wear her new jeans with zippers up the sides. What do we think they were? Were they the skinny jeans with the zippered ankles that I forgot existed until now? Or something more intricate? I tried searching for 80s zippered jeans and found all of these jeans with zippers that went in between the butt cheeks and basically zipped the pants in half. I don’t think she was wearing those. Lol. Like these?
