Karen's School Picture. Karen had some interesting descriptions of some of the boys in her life.
David Michael (with an inconsistency about his age): Karen and Hank switched desks. Hank: Hank was an animal.

Karen's Doll. Karen went to the hospital to visit Nancy. She wasn't allowed in but wanted her card delivered. She wanted to make sure that the guy at the information desk gave it to the right Nancy. There's an illustration of a guy with a nice head of hair. It would have been funnier if he had a bad combover.
Karen had lied to her mom for weeks about where Hyacynthia was. She finally got her back from Nancy. I just picture Karen throwing the doll down so hard that the head pops off, lol.
That's all

Ugh, I love this book. So good. Did Ann write it?
I was always weirded out by Karen’s attitude toward the non wig wearing guy!

It looks like Stephanie Calmenson wrote it.
Karen was super aggressive in the hospital. The illustrator drew her with her mouth wide open.

Wasn't Hyacynthia porcelain? What's Karen doing tossing her?

I forget that she is porcelain. And her dress must have been delicate as well.

She was one of those dolls that should be on a stand on a shelf in Karen's bedroom. Her little eyes would follow you around the room. Karen's nightlight would cast a shadow on her pasty white face. Karen pretty much built a fortress for Hyacynthia to travel in, but I'm very surprised that Lisa let the doll leave the Little House.

Karen's Witch. Watson was going to talk to Mrs. Porter about starting an herb garden. Karen screamed NO! so loudly that Watson and Hannie jumped, Shannon skittered out of the room, and Elizabeth dropped a glass. They were all like "what's up with you?" I probably would have had a similar reaction as Karen, but actually about the gross herbs. Lol.
Later Grandma Packett dumped Karen off at the Big House. Ooh, what did she say?!

53. Karen's School Bus
There was a cute part where Karen was almost late for the bus because she ran home to get her Little Mermaid sunglasses as a disguise. The kids surprisingly still recognized her, lol. It came with a sad illustration of her sitting with these sunglasses with Ariel coming out of each side of her head.
Karen had to go to the school nurse after she threw up. Karen said that she felt fine.

Karen's Grandmothers. Karen asked her Granny to be Nancy's pen pal. Granny said yes and then sent Nancy some homemade mittens were her name stitched on them. Karen was not feeling it. (Side note, I get jealous like Karen, but I'd also like some name-mittens.) I rather like Karen's stationary that Granny sent her, but more I look at it the more I think it could be an adult film title. It said XXX Kisses From Karen.

Karen's Cowboy. This book was very dry. However, there was a little library at the ranch that had stuff that guests had left in it. Lots of Fabio. "Lots of grown-up books with covers showing bare-chested, long-haired muscle men grabbing women who looked as if they were about to faint." There was also "a stack of ancient (1979 through 1992) National Geographic magazines." I feel personally attacked by that range of years listed That is the exact birth range of original BSC readers.

Karen's Field Day. The 3 Musketeers were pumping themselves up to Prepare, Practice, and Perform for Field Day. I never knew who the Gipper was, either. It was just a random thing that people shouted like "break a leg."

Karen's Movie. Karen was being a bossy movie director, and her cast and crew was over it. I did, too! I like people who can come up with a quick comeback.
