I read the original fairly recently and kind of felt like nothing really happens in this book. The graphic novel confirmed that. I’ve been thinking a lot about how they missed an opportunity for a Saturday morning cartoon with BSC or LS. Everything had a cartoon in the 80s. Little Sister could have really played up Karen’s imagination with Morbidda, fantasy sequences and dreams, wacky 3 Musketeer adventures, talking pets, whatever. (I don’t know if any of you are old enough to remember the Punky Brewster cartoon, but Punky and the Gang hung out with this Ewok-looking alien thing. Whatever happens, happens.)
Some visuals of my favorite parts of the real book: Andrew's eyebrows of indifference, Kristy's morning after her night from hell, and Morbidda looking like a boss babe.
I also really, really hate how Kristy's hair is drawn in this, but I can only add three pictures to one post. I don't know how Stacey didn't tackle her and fix that mess.
