What is Ann M Martin, a feminist for girls who hate other girls? Women who hate other women? Or maybe people who think fathers are better than mothers? When you reread The Babysitters Club series, have you noticed how often they write female characters, teachers, mothers, rivals, little sisters, even the babysitters themselves; how often they can be written in as the bad guys? Like, less than likable? Reading off all of her works; not just the babysitters club, but also Missing Since Monday which face facts isn't really so much a book but more like a pamphlet of what NOT to do when your little sister turns up missing; [honestly I don't even know how that book got published, as it's an insult for everyone who ever had a missing child whether it's for a few seconds in a grocery store or your child disappeared in the back of a tinted van, not even played for laughs, but yeah, let's put off calling 911 shall we, just for the sake of a plot? Who in their right mind would greenlight that?] Anyone who complains about Jesse staying home alone to babysit Becca and Squirt for a weekend with parents away would wet their pants if they were forced to read Missing Since Monday; believe me! Ann M Martin wrote another called Family Tree all by herself without ghostwriters, well that was only a four series, not a one hundred books series like The Babysitters Club was, and then came the spin-offs with the other characters meaning it turned into at least two hundred babysitter club books by the time she and the ghostwriters were finished.
