I really like the Papadakises. The kids seem pretty sweet, well behaved, and smart. And not strange like the Kormans. Love the hatred between Hannie and Amanda Delaney and don't blame Hannie Also like them in the LS books, except in Karen's Haircut when Hannie made me really angry. Still trying to forgive her for how mean she was In Kristy and the Snobs, I felt for them in how Shannon seemed to keep putting them in the middle of her conflict with Kristy. Kristy did too to some extent. I actually thought the kids were a little more mature than the sitters - Shannon especially - in this one ;D I like Mr. and Mrs. Papadakis, too. Thoughts on them?

I always though the papadakis's were really cute, especially Hannie. I thought she was cute with her little pigtails. I loved the names they had for their pets as well.

The Papadakises were very likeable. Even if I didn't like all the stuff Hannie did in LS I still enjoyed reading about her because I thought she was cute and spunky. I love Linny in both LS and BSC.

I love them! So so so much! Especially Hannie. Linny reminds me of an over-grown Andrew. I think my 9 year old self would've wanted to beat him up, as my 4 year old self would've wanted to beat Andrew up (I know I'm so nice). But I adore hannie. She is so adorable. What does she do in Karen's Haircut? is that where Hannie is getting "married" and tells Karen she's too fug to be in the wedding? Hannie is so adorable. I love her name and I love the pictures of her, she's so cute!! She seems to be more developed than Nancy cause at least she is featured in BSC books rather than just LS books. Sari seems super cute too Even though i never knew how to say her name (I say it like sahhhhrry now... kinda like sorry). How do you say your nieces name, blossom? Also I never heard of that as a name... where did your family come up with it?

^ I had the same question about how to say "Sari". I've always said it "Sar-ee" but wasn't sure. Yes, sotypical, Karen's Haircut is when Hannie is getting married and tells Karen she's too ugly to be in the wedding. Ouch! Glad to see so much agreement on this family

I always said it like the indian garment, but now I think it's supposed to be a nickname for sarah. By the way, what does linny stand for??? Lyndon?

with the exception of Karens haircut I really like Hannie! Her attitude really shocked me in that book. Other than that I think she's really cute and I kind of like how she and Amanda don't like each other - I like how they put two girls who couldn't get along in the books, I think it's realistic.

^ Totally agree and enjoy the interaction between Hannie and Amanda. Also love the Papadakis pet names - even though I can't stand pets in most cases, theirs sound cute because of the names. I like them in the book with the pet show subplot. Also wonder what Linny is short for - Linus (sp???), Lionel (sp???), hadn't thought of Linden but that is the most likely. Is it ever mentioned? Hannie I know is short for Hannah. Thanks, blossom, for the name clarification. That is what my mom had told me but in my mind it will probably always be "Sar-ee" ;D (of course, I have many alternate pronunciations - this last name being the biggest one I can't say let alone spell, though I am learning how to spell it for this thread

Linny is my favorite aunts name. It always annoyed me as a little boy name.

I don't think they ever said what Linny was short for...
Re: Hannie -- I always thought that was kind of awkward. I mean, it's not exactly like Hannah is this horrible, long name or anything. I guess I could see if it was a sort of pet name within the family, like her parents calling her their little Hannie to be cute or something...but as the name she's generally known by? Hmm.

^ I always kind of thought Hannie was cute - something different. Maybe came from Linny not being able to say Hannah and it stuck? My dad knew someone whose name she was known as even as an adult was "Sissy" because that's what her brothers called her and it just caught on and stayed with her.
