I voted for Richard. He reminds me of my own dad. When I was young, my dad seemed overly strict, but before me he'd had 5 boys(4 of them are half brothers, never really knew them), so he didn't know WHAT to do with a teenage girl. I appreciate him and his efforts a lot more now and we're super close, even though he's still super strict.
EDIT: I accidentally said 6 brothers before, I lost count--it was only 5. Haha, I was counting my little brother too.

^omg that's pretty similar to me. My dad had five sons--my much older half-brothers that I wasn't close to growing up--before he had my sister and me. He was much more overprotective with my sister because she was his first girl, but I was his last little girl and kid...so Richard's strictness with Mary Anne was something I identified with.

My little sister is really protected too, because she's his last child.

i'm trying to think... my dad wasn't overly protective...but kind of old fashioned. I'm the baby of the family (two half brothers two half sisters..though to me they're just my brothers and sisters). All very MUCH older than me. We were all problem children though. I dont know my brothers as much as my sisters though. My brothers took off. One is in the AF the other one...AZ...been in jail..you know the type. (they're both 38). My sisters were in St. Louis most of the time when i was growing up. Sometimes strayed, but then came back. Now my sisters including myself are in TX (well.. . tonja's back in the STL for a month)
I dont know who to vote for! Other than no to Ed

I voted for Richard. He's a lot like my dad was when I was younger- very overprotective of me because I was the baby of the family and the only girl. I really liked his and MA's relationship in her Portrait. He was strict but you could tell it was because he really loved her.

So far Richard, Watson and John Ramsey seem to be the most popular! Those three are my favourites, and I have a hard time choosing between them.

^Me too. I did pick Mr.Ramsey, but the three of them are my favorite dads.

Those are my three favorites, too. Watson and Richard are a bit above Mr. Ramsey for me, though, probably because I don't feel like I know as much about him.

Richard has a pretty good lead. And there's a vote for Jack!

^ ;D He did take the kids to Disneyland (though they didn't get to do enough. I wonder if there would have been any votes for Patrick. ;D

^ Sorry I didn't put Patrick on the list! I chose not to include him as he doesn't really appear in the regular series.

I just read my sister the topic of this poll, and without waiting to hear the current results, she said, "I'd vote for Dawn's dad, because he took her to California to live with him so we didn't have to have any more books about her." I guess I know which sitter is her least favorite.
