^ ;D Maybe that's another reason for the Jack vote on the poll. As for not including Patrick, I figured that was because it's a poll for dads and he's simply genetic material, in my opinion. ;D And Watson is included as Kristy's "real" dad. ;D

No one seems to like Mr Kishi, Mr Pike or Mr McGill Probably because Mr Kishi's kind of boring, Mr Pike seems like an average fun Dad but not as fun as Mr Ramsey... and Mr McGill is an arse ;D

^ ;D about Mr. McGill and totally agree. Also agree about Mr. Kishi who also seems kind of standoffish but in some books can be okay. I think we just didn't see enough of him because he and Claudia didn't have much of a relationship. I think we didn't see enough of Mr. Pike, either, but I really liked him, too, in the books he was in.

My favorite BSC dad is Richard Spier, definitely. He really, really loves Mary Anne. There were some moments that really showed how much he loves Mary Anne, which made me cry and cry. Like in Mary Anne's Book,(Chapter 5 "The Tea Party")when Mary Anne whispered into his ear "I love you Daddy" and then Richard whispered back "I love you, too, more than life itself"(I kept repeating those words in my head after I've read it). Then in Mystery # 5 "Mary Anne and The Secret In The Attic",when Kristy's mother was telling Kristy the moment she saw Richard pushing Mary Anne in her stroller. " Look at my little girl," Richard said to Mrs. Thomas. "Isn't she beautiful?" Then he smiled for the first time in almost two years. Those moments were so touching.
I'm very close to my dad too,and I love him very much(words can't express how much). Because I look a LOT like him, people always say that I'm just a girl version of him or a carbon copy of him. He's kinda strict, but he lets me wear clothes I want to wear(I think that's because he likes my style),as long as it's conservative(that's not a problem).

I am also a Richard Spier fan! He loved Mary Anne so much. Some of the scenes with the two of them are so sweet, it makes me want to cry. I think I would have cried had I ever read Mary Anne's Portrait (from what 'Mary Anne' above said about it). I love seeing how they interact! Besides, a father should be a little strict, and while putting her in little girls clothing was a little much, Mary Anne was all he had and he wanted to protect her. He did become more flexible though, and it turned him into what I think is a nearly perfect dad.

I liked most of the BSC dads! Watson really seemed understanding of how difficult having a stepfather must be to Kristy and he tried his hardest to make it easier on her. We never saw much of John Kishi, but he provided his daughter with a temporary darkroom, let her go out of the house dressed like a circus act to "express herself," let her take a "master class" art class even though she was failing out of school...my impression is that he didn't really "get" Claudia, but he wanted to make her happy. Same goes for Mrs. Kishi (whose name I forget, was it Rioko?) Richard Spier loved his daughter so much he wanted to protect her from the bad things in the world. Even though he went about it in the wrong way sometimes, by trying to keep her a little girl forever, he only ever acted in her best interests. And he tried hard to be open to change when it was necessary. I joke about his being creepy, but really, he seemed like a good father. Ed McGill doted on his daughter. He wasn't always the best parent - he seemed to be the sort to think that money and gifts could make up for not being around so much - but he treated Stacey like a princess. He may have been immature, but he acted out of love, which counts for something. John Pike seemed like he would be one of those fun "one of the kids" dads, because the Pikes were so laid-back. I think dads like that are the most fun, personally, maybe because I have a father who loves cartoons and is always up for a trip to the zoo. John Ramsey seemed really funny and like a really nice guy. I never got much of a feel for him, either, but he seemed like he had a good sense of humor, and his kids were crazy about him, which speaks pretty highly of any parent! I wasn't wild about Jack Schafer, but I also think we didn't get the most balanced portrayal of him, since we often only saw him in little snippets when he and Sharon were having some sort of conflict. And, really, if I had been married to Sharon, I'd probably be a bit cranky about her, too (Not that I dislike Sharon, but if I actually knew her I might!)

^ I agree too. In a few books (World's Cutest Baby) he seems kind of funny and nice but I know the impression of him (at least I think this is the way the girls kind of perceive him) is as kind of strict or straight-laced. I do, too.

I really like John Kishi. A lot of people don't seem to like mrs and mr kishi but i think we see a lot of nice, genuine family moments with them.

^ I like Mr. Kishi in the books he's featured in, too. I just wish he would have been talked about more. I think he would have been viewed a bit differently then.

^ I'm with mckay with everything she says. I voted for Mr. Ramsey (maybe because during Christmastime, which was when I voted, I always read Happy Holidays, Jessi, and I really like him in that book) but it was hard for me to decide between him, Watson and Richard. I love the Richard moments in Mary Anne's Book. He seems like a really loving, understanding dad in that one. I also wish that Mr. Kishi had been featured more. He seemed kind of strict, but as mckay says, he really seemed to want that Claudia was happy. Also, I'm sorry that Abby's dad died, because in Abby's book, he seemed like a great dad.
