This a double BSC reference of sorts. I read last night on a Paperback Swap message board about a little girl name Addie. I immediately thought of Addie Sidney from LS. This Addie lives in Utah and has a lot of health issues. It touched me that she is wishing for Christmas cards to bring her added cheer. I believe Addie is 4 and she has two older sisters Shayley and Audree. Here is a link to the story: www.ksl.com/?sid=32536472&nid= I'm going to make/send them some cards and thought some of you might enjoy doing the same. Maybe we can even recommend the LS books. Reminded me of BSC's Hospital Buddies from #100, which I wish had continued to our knowledge, and also Jessi's Wish where the Kids Club send cards to children in the hospital. Thanks for reading this and I hope everyone is having a blessed and dry day--it is raining here!

I talked about Karen's Sleepover with a third grade girl this morning. So fun seeing that familiar cover. She didn't know how to pronounce Pamela's name

At Church this afternoon, a grandma brought her infant grandson. After the service we were chatting in the foyer and she was sharing how her daughter last minute needed extra childcare. We were all thankful Kyle was with us, he is so cute. I said that if ever she needed a baby-sitter, look around or something like that and the grandma laughed and replied seriously that she knew that and needed to begin taking phone numbers. Totally reminded me of Kristy and the BSC.

I was watching The McCarthys the other day. They mention a guy name Larry Pike. The Pike name, remind me of The Pike family in BSC.

I recently became a vegan, so going past the milk chocolate and frozen dessert aisle in the supermarket yesterday made me feel very like Stacey in Stacey in Stacey's Emergency. Especially when my mum bought a Twix to eat for dessert!

Just heard a character introduced as Natalie Springer in a Hallmark movie. Haha.

Here's an blog from School Library Journal's site about the BSC being an "endangered" series: 100scopenotes.com/2015/01/09/endangered-series-4-the-baby-sitters-club/Of course, I'm the the "keep them" camp, though I do agree that the old covers would look dated in the eyes of kids today. We have the updated covers and the graphic novels at my library and they all check out a lot.

Interesting, candykane! Hmm, I would keep them because duh. But I would also consider maybe keeping the rereleases/graphic novels, and then acquiring the ebook versions for kids who got hooked if it was a library that lent out ebooks. But I'm also the weirdo who buys academic journals from 1936 on Amazon, so library sales are heaven for me.

I had a spam email name Claudia Hu (something like that) it made me think, maybe that's Claudia's married name.

Last night on an episode of Forensic Files, one of the detectives was named Rick Torres.

I was watching Aladdin recently and remembered Karen, audrey, the barken, and the Arnold twins. They went to go see it on twin day in Karens twin.
