'K. New one: This has always been one of my favorites. I love the purple color and despite how Mal actually is in the book (just re-read, oh my Lord), she looks so poised and confident on the cover. Like that there is a blonde on the other horse who might be Kelsey, or Allison Anders, the first place winner (who rode PEACHES) Pax sure is purty...those pink ribbons And omg just noticed the man wearing a hat in the corner. Why is there always a creeper, Hodges?

Does anyone else think the perspective with the boy (Nicky?) looks weird? If you look at his feet and the horse's feet, they seem to be several feet apart. But then Nicky's right hand seems really close to be petting the horse.
Isn't Nicky the only other Pike with glasses? Yet he doesn't have them, but the girl (Margo?) does.

^Is that girl supposed to be Margo? She has sort of an odd expression on her face! I think maybe in one book, or am I making this up, Vanessa had reading glasses? Full-time glasses are just Mal and Nicky.
Boo Boo, it is good to see Mal looking confident. I will always wish her riding experience had been better. I like the background of the trees, real pretty and probably a nice rural area.

I love the horses on this cover. So beautiful. Yes, I see the creep guy. I guess, that like randomly put creeps on some of BSC covers.

Pax is definitely adorable. I wouldn't mind if I had such a horse (too bad having a horse will be a lot of work). Add me as another person that likes how Mallory looks confident on the cover.

I never noticed the creepy guy before; he blends in pretty well.

^ I never notices before, either. Until Booboo mentions it.

Even though I know it's not her, the girl in the all-jean outfit looks more like Mal.
The tagline makes me chuckle.

I think the girl in double denim (why are her clothes so dirty looking?) looks secretly terrified. Her right arm is completely rigid like she's afraid to make any movement, and she's holding the apple up like "Here, horse. Eat this, not me." The boy's grandpa socks pulled halfway up to his knees makes me smile.

Mallory looks so happy to be on the horse and I never noticed before but the girl in denim does look like a younger Mallory.

Hodges has made a decent effort at drawing a smoky landscape, down to the sweat on MA's arms, but MA looks too much like she's posing for a modelling shot.

NEXT: Going back for a second ... I actually LOOOOVE this cover. It's the epitome of BSC covers to me; shows the girls somehow involved in a babysitting-related activity showing kids in the picture with them. I love the fall setting. Very typical New England scene with the trees, leaves, and house in the background. I like how Jessi, Dawn (super cute) and the kids look. Mallory looks nice despite a few flaws to her outfit but I can overlook that. One comment is that the book is called Mallory on Strike, and get she's raking leaves (a chore) which doesn't leave me with an impression of "on strike".
