Speaking of Mallory's infamous jumper, where on earth would one get a jumper with "Mallory" written across it anyway? I mean, Mallory isn't exactly a common name and I've never seen jumpers with names on them, anyway. Did she have it custom made?!

Maybe all the Pikes had an item of clothing with their name on it... emphasising even further that the Pike family are basically the American Weasleys ;D

Lillian Vernon and such catalogues used to offer personalization of a buttload of random things. I always assumed they ordered it from something like that. Why, however, is the question I've never been able to answer.

I kind of thought that maybe her mom stitched it on for her or special ordered it for like, Christmas or something.

I can picture somebody's mom stitching their name on their jumper, but I don't know when Mrs. Pike would get the time to do that, so maybe it was another relative.

^Mrs. Pike should have plenty of time for things like that! It's not like she's ever actually busy with her own children or anything.

I actually had the same thought myself when I was posting, but then I thought, Nah, she's always off playing tennis or something, she wouldn't bother to personalize her children's clothes.

I agree wanderingfrog, I really can't see Mrs. Pike taking the time to personalize her kids' clothes! I'm thinking the jumper was a Christmas or birthday gift from a relative.

I wonder if all the kids have clothes like that?

I always wonder that too, mcpon. When I first started re-reading the series, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Jessi was at times. I had totally forgotten about that because her sense of humor seems to totally disappear as the series goes on. It's too bad, because she was quite likeable in the beginning, I thought.

^I totally agree. Jessi was great in the beginning. It's a shame she didn't get to keep her uniqueness. She became just"the dancer." And in case anyone forgot she's black.
