It is sweet and reminds me of the nice interaction between mother and daughter in "Pet-Sitter." I wish we had seen other instances of Jessi talking with her mom. And Dad, too, for that matter. The Ramsey Family sounded like a good (caring) one.

^ I've really come to appreciate the Ramsey family now that I'm grown up. They were good people, and I love the way they always supported each other when it came right down to it. Not all that much drama in that house!

^Aw, I like how you said that, Starrynight. My only qualm with them was how Aunt Cecelia came to be a member of the household. Otherwise, I think they did indeed support one another and made sure all family members felt apart of things and loved.

I just reread this one too and I do like the family dynamic, but I def don't appreciate Jessi's comments and comparison of herself to Matt. The book really was a bit boring though and yuck the picture of her is just awful.....she really does look like a 30 year old!

^What did Jessi say? I sometimes have trouble with the wording about Matt being a Krusher. It often sounds like the Sitter is surprised that because Matt is deaf he can still play baseball. It's like "deaf kids and softball? No way!" :/

^LOL. Maybe and just maybe that's why Jessi was secretly glad that she would never age.

LOL this is one of the instances where it is obvious the character and the author are not of the same race. POC do not talk like this.

Just finished rereading this one and I think I may actually hate Jessi after all. She was extremely pretentious in this book! "When I'm on stage, I am the dance." "I think a bomb could have dropped and caved in the theatre, and I'd still have been Swanhilda, dancing." Give me a freaking break! I disagree that it makes her pretentious. She often talks about how she deals with performance nerves, it's never come across badly to me. The quotes in context: "When I’m onstage, I am the dance. I’m the steps and turns and leaps. I’m Swanilda telling my story. Nothing less. For me, that’s the only way to handle a performance." "It’s hard to describe how I feel when I’m onstage. But I think a bomb could have dropped and caved in the theater, and I’d still have been Swanilda, dancing." The second one just sounds to me like she was reveling in her part and that night, and she's entitled to! I do like her in this book.

Just got done reading this book. Now, back @ the library.
The beginning of the story was boring. I enjoy reading the end of the story.
When they were going to a restaurant after the recital. Jessi's mom said, her friends should called their parents tell them, their going be a little late. Jessi said theirs a pay phone out in the hall way. Jessi thinking. (my friends was looking through their purse for changes.
I laughed at that. Cause, now everyone has cell phones, ipad, blackberrys or whatever electronic device they have. they can call or text their parents. their gonna be late. I don't think theirs any pay phones out in public anymore. (that works) Anytime, I go to a public pace. I'll see the pay phone off the wall or the stand used be on. Just the wall where the pay phone used to be. I think you might find them antique store. But, probably cost alot of money. Where will you put it in your house? if you have room for it.
