Funny, wanderingfrog!
I loved these parts:
"My piano exam was today (2nd grade). During my study the book fell off and hit my hands but would you believe I kept on playing? (You'd better- it's true!)"
"Me and Kate are making up a rap song. Our wildlife is very special/We don't want artificial/ Killing elephants for ivory?/ That doesn't sound too good to me./ Pandas are all black and white/ And soon they might be out of sight. That's all we have."

Loved your journal wanderingfrog! I tried making many journals throughout my childhood (I even got that Dear Diary toy for my 7th birthday after begging my mom to get it for me) but I always seemed to forget about them. The only one that I wrote in for a long time (about a school year long) was one I kept in 3rd grade. I stopped writing it in 4th grade and now I wish I knew where it was so that I could look at it again ;D.

Yeah, I'd be so enthusiastic about diaries for a few days and then just lose interest. Bit of a shame, really.

wanderingfrog - I don't have time right now to read your whole journal, but it sounds a lot like the one I was keeping when I was 11 and 12!

I only had about 2 entries in the only diary I ever owned ;D Did it mention if any of the BSC members kept a diary? I know Mal kept a journal but other than the SS journals, I don't remember mention of actual diaries (except the one that Claudia keeps secretly when Stacey is tutoring her and Stacey accidently reads it....)

Apparently Mal convinced Jessi to keep a journal as well. But we didn't hear much about it.

Mal gives everyone journals she decorated herself (sports theme for Kristy, etc.) in Mallory's Christmas Wish.

^ That is a cool gift. Maybe they just kept them as "momentos" or maybe they just didn't ever mention writing in them. I never have been a big journal writer, so I probably would have just kept mine blank ;D

Well, in one book (I dont remember which one, but it was a Dawn leaving for California book) Dawn says that she's never really kept a journal before, but in the CD series, the students at her school had been writing in diaries since they started school. I was like, hmmm continuity mistake?

It's sort of implied that Stacey keeps a journal, I think--she shows Kristy an entry in "Kristy's Worst Idea," and then there was that stupid notebook fight she had with Claudia in SS#14. Mary Anne seems to me like she would keep a journal, to write all her romantic fantasies and obsessive phobias in, but I don't recall it ever referring to one. I love your wildlife rap, wanderfrog!

Just reread this one and it has always been my favorite. It was my first BSC book and the one that got me hooked on the series and has such a "comfortable" feeling. ;D I was really surprised that many of my real tutoring experiences were a lot like Mal's. This was a pretty accurate portrayal, I think. Very frustrating but often very rewarding. ;D I remember as a kid really enjoying reading about the tutoring. Also remember really liking Stacey and Mal's relationship because I could relate to this wanting to hang out with the older girls and them being nice to me. ;D That is still one of my favorite parts of this book. ;D

I want to meet the people who move out of their homes and leave big boxes of stuff in their attics. Seriously, it sounds like fun and happens all the time in books and movies. It's never happened to anyone I've ever met.
How many kids did the BSC tutor or help with major school assignments? I count Mal/Buddy, Claudia/Shea, Claudia/Emily Michelle, Jessi/Jackie (the volcano science project). More? Kristy should have added "free tutoring" to the BSC fliers as an extra perk.
