I never thought of this with Richard but you are so right. When I get a chance, I'll get out the card from secret santa because I'm curious. It is always weird to me how MA and Logan say "I love you" at 13. Edited to add: I am posting what MA wrote in Secret Santa on the thread under that book so we can get back on topic here (ah - I'm Karen - a stickler for rules. )

Ah, I found this one probably my least favourite SS. MA's letters were pretty bad, and Kristy just plain annoyed me. Claud made me roll my eyes, (but also feel bad for her) while Jessi... She really can be annoying at times. I don't know why I'm being so negative... It wasn't that bad

^ ;D I didn't like this one much either and it's probably my least favorite SS, too. And I also felt bad for Claud. Usually like Jessi but she made me mad in this one - always does when she is paranoid about the racism (not saying that she hasn't faced discrimination but people aren't always unpleasant because they are prejudice....)

At least her thinking that about Pinky isn't quite as bad as suspecting her OWN BEST FRIEND is racist in SS #14.

^ Totally agree. By the way, what kind of name is Pinky? Is that a nickname or short for something? Sometimes the BSC names make me say "huh"? ;D

It's a better nickname for Priscilla than "Prissy" would be, anyway.

^ ;D Agree. All I keep thinking now is Amanda Delaney's expensive cat named Priscilla. ;D

aww I love the name Priscilla. I think it's pretty. I'm re-reading this one now (slowly but surely) so hopefully I'll have some comments soon... well one thing immediately pops to mind. The freakin BSC going to rescue the kids (of course a teacher randomly knows how amazing they are w/ children and vouches for them, whatever) and then moving into their dorm?!?! omgggg YEAH RIGHT.

^ I ALWAYS hated that they gave up their vacation to room with the kids. I don't think I would have done the same.

^ Agree that I never would have done that and it doesn't seem very realistic. Guess they're better people than me ;D This plot always kind of bothered me, too, but I suppose that there wouldn't have been much to this book without it. Since it's one of my least favorites, maybe that's not a bad thing....;D

Why why why does there always have to be some sort of mystery popping up in random BSC books? I'm at the part where MA is talking about the ghost at the lodge... snoooore.

I just reread this one yesterday and didn't enjoy it as much as I used to when I was a kid. It was kind of dull in parts.
And I like how Jessi and Dawn learned lessons about themselves that they apparently forgot by the time they got back to Stoneybrook.

^ Agree about the forgotten lessons. The mysteries don't annoy me as much as the ghosts. I don't believe in the supernatural so a lot of the ghost stories are my least favorites (though I do like a few like the Ghost at Dawn's House) Dawn always seems to get obsessed but it wasn't her in this book, was it? What was Dawn's plot again? I forgot.
