I agree, the cab thing is totally weird, but remember guys this is STONEYBROOK where nobody ages, everyone had the same name and almost all the parents are lawyers!

What time of year does the movie take place? I have it and keep forgetting to watch it and wonder if it would be a better "winter" or "summer" movie.

It's summer. I know it covers August because of Kristy's birthday.

^ Thanks. Maybe I should wait to watch it or on second thought, maybe watching a "summer" movie would warm me up. ;D

^It's not THAT cold. All the snow melted today. ;-) ;D And the wind is ONLY whipping about 50 mph against our house right now with flurries coming down. And I'm cold as soon as the temp dips below 70 or 75. ;D Maybe a nice summer movie is just what I need.... (After Christmas, of course ;D)

^Yeah, I spoke to soon. Last night I thought the wind was going to knock my windows in. And it's been snowing all day, and it's not good ski snow. It's like a light powder that will be landing on top of ice. ... which I guess would be cool if I wanted to DIE! Not to mention the f*ing wind.

^Yeah, so now there is so much snow I can't even get to the garage. Perfect for skiing, but impossible to actually get to the slopes. I will have to stop talking about the stupid snow. I seem to underestimate it.

^ Never underestimate the snow in MI. ;D Kind of like the girls being convinced they wouldn't get the blizzard in Snowbound.... The wind is so strong here right now that I can feel a chill coming right into the house. I'm about to go to my Grandma's across the ravine (she's not home anyway ;D) and crank up her heat like she likes it anyway because my mom is always hot and complains if we get the heat above about 67 here. My dad sleeps in a Sponge Bob hat and gloves and bathrobe because he's so cold. ;D

Okay, just noticed something (and I've seen this movie a lot) -- in the scene where they're having the first meeting of the summer, Kristy is sitting in her director's chair and to the left -- is a bookcase full of Nancy Drew books. What happened to having to keep the books hidden? I was also disappointed that Claudia didn't pull any candy or junk food out of hiding places. Oh yeah, and the girls totally snickered when Mallory was talking about the historic greenhouse and how she knew what was going on in the 1870's because she was writing a book about a nurse. They were like "riiiight". Poor Mallory!
