Russ and Peaches

I liked Claudia recalled going to the park with Peaches as a little girl. She (P) sounded like a lot of fun. On the other hand I thought Rioko's reaction to Peaches and Claudia's homecoming after a midnight pizza was very polite!

Honestly no, because it's BSC and Ann does not strike me as the inappropriate type. If it were any other author, probably!

I always thought 'Peaches' was a sweet nickname (like 'dear' or 'honey') from Russ. But now that I think of it, it could be an inappropriate inside joke. I know its BSC but there are a lot of hidden meanings little kids don't understand.

Russ kind of vaguely irritated me for 'renaming' Peaches. And Peaches was kind of annoying with how she tells Claudia 'I'm dealing with leaving my job and moving!' etc. like it just seems incredibly OTT for her to stop working the second she's pregnant and be a 'stay at home mom' when she didn't even appear to be showing, and then complaining to her 13 year old niece that she's having to adjust to all that. (Although that was classic BSC, like how Kristy's mom can't possibly live with Watson, so they organise that ridiculous wedding in like, a week, lest they Live In Sin; Peaches and Russ apparently never think to find a place with space for a baby until they've literally conceived.)
Also it must suck for Janine that after Mimi favours Claudia her whole life; Peaches then picks up the rope by calling her baby Claudia's middle name and making Claudia the godmother.

I really wish Peaches was used a lot more. Like there's a point where Claudia feels like she doesn't belong in her family and thinks she's adopted in book 33, right? It's made out like they're close in later books so why not have them talk or something or at least call since she didn't live in stoneybrook at the time. Plus she would have got some backstory like why she has the nickname peaches or something. It feels a little like wasted potential even though they probably didn't think of her until later or something.

Aside from that I like Russ and Peaches. There's a story of how they met in one of the FF books and it sounded really sweet.

Someone reviewed book #33 online (look on YouTube for Arglefumph Reads. He does reviews on a lot of books and he does BSC books. He's read up to #102 and so far has about 40 reviews ready to go but he only puts up a few BSC ones each month, but he has reviews on the Netflix series as well), and he talked about the part where Claudia compares pictures of young Mimi to her at that age and how they are so alike. The reviewer stated that all that proves is that Mimi and Claudia are related, but "What if Mimi had a secret daughter nobody knows about?" I put a comment on there that it would be more likely that Claudia was Peaches' daughter with a boyfriend she had before Russ (who was out of the picture by this time) and adopted by her aunt and uncle because at the time, Peaches didn't have enough to look after a child on her own. It does come up in the discussion that Claudia and Peaches are alike, so...an interesting theory.
I'm not saying that's plausible, really, but it's a really fun idea to think about.

I like Russ and Peaches also...I wouldn't be surprised if they had several children during Claudia's high school years.
