... Actually, (And I hope you can forgive me, aln1982, because I've seen that you dislike him I could see him with quite a few of the girls. I don't know why. No forgiveness needed. ;D You're definitely entitled to your own view of Cary and I'm not even sure why I don't like him. ;D I just get a creepy vibe from him. I can also see him with a lot of the girls, though. Not that I think the relationships would (or should ;D) work out but I can certainly see them happening. Kristy, MA, Stacey and Abby especially.

Ha, you've just picked the four I was thinking of! I might have thrown Claudia into the mix as well, though. Not sure why. And I can see why you get a creepy vibe from him. I thought that about him at one point too. (Especially with the boiler room thing in 'Stacey and the Stolen Hearts'. What was that about?!?) His creep factor, for me, comes from the fact that he seems to watch the girls a little too much. Like in 'Baby-sitters Fright Night.' He just always knows too much about them.

i think he's just an observer. he wants to be a writer, so he's just interested in people and what makes them tick and maybe getting a little rise out of them.

I can see how you might interpret it that way, greer. I think we just tend to get different vibes for who knows what reason about the different characters. ;D Inconsistentheart, that is exactly what creeps me out about Cary, I think – how he’s always kind of “there.” I haven’t read the FF series, though, so maybe I would get a different perspective of Cary from those.

You definitely see a softer side of Cary in the FF books. Before Claudia starts dating Alan, Cary actually asks her not to hurt Alan's feelings. That was kind of surprising, but nice.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see Cary with some of the girls. I've often wondered if he targeted them for pranks and such just so that he could get their attention. It's a possibility.

^ I agree that Cary might bother the girls to get their attention. After all, I'm sure that's why Alan is such a pest to Kristy. That seems to be a common communication method for boys. ;D Glad to hear Cary is nicer in the FF books. If I read some of those (I've been planning to ;D), maybe my perspective on him will change.

^That's what Sam did to Stacey at Shadow Lake too.

I have no idea who Cary is. I feel so lost. I think I'm going to have to go on Amazon and pick up some of these books where he's mentioned. ;D

I actually like Cary and find him to be an intersting character and like his interactions with the girls especially Kristy.

I like Cary. I really liked him in Mary Anne's Revenge where he helped Mary Anne get revenge on Cokie.

I really like the Mary Anne and Cary pairing. Maybe because it's sweet to see Mary Anne date more of a bad-ass character, and both of their personalities bringing out something different in each other. Cary, for making Mary Anne more assertive and bad, which would be interesting to see. Mary Anne for bringing out a softer side of Cary. I also like their interaction in MA and the Silent Witness, which is up there for my top mysteries.

Yup, that's exactly why I like MA and Cary, too.

The more I think about it, the more Cary's introduction to the series was a "great idea". First, he was brought in more heavily to the mystery books, adding more tension to the series. He acted as a great foil to many of the characters. Also, he was a boy - not Logan - and let's face it. (Most girls) like boys!

i agree. before he was introduced, the main enemies of the club were cokie and alan, and cary was the only one who was actually succesful at getting under the girls' skin. i still love that he managed to force kristy to forfeit the mystery war. it's the closest anyone ever came to beating the club.
