I totally agree! Everyone got married and popped out babies at ridiculous rates in Stoneybrook. I guess the Barrett-Dewitts were one exception, but they already had 2 baby/toddlers so I doubt they were looking for more.

^ Thank goodness the Barrett-Dewitts didn't pop out any more. 7 was more than enough trouble ;D But they did get married closer to the end of the series so if there would have been more books, I wouldn't have been surprised if they would have had a child of their own. Just noticed in a lot of LS books that Seth seems to be the one who drives Karen and Andrew to the "Big House". I like how he interacts with them almost like a real father yet doesn't seem to conflict with Watson or be in competition with him. It is like he's an extra father instead of a stand-in (if this makes sense).

^I would think it would be more awkward for Seth to be driving Karen and Andrew back and forth, but he's very cool about it.

^ Agree about the awkwardness but Seth does always seem okay with things like that. (Boo Boo's funeral, for example ;D Just got Karen's Black Cat off of ebay and it arrived yesterday so I can't wait to read ;D) That's why it makes no sense to me why the two families can't celebrate together (supposedly for Seth and Elizabeth's sake because they would be uncomfortable) in Karen's Birthday. But I know this has its own thread on the LS page. Too bad Seth and Lisa weren't in the regular series more. I really like them.

^The only time I remember seeing any Seth and Lisa dialogue was in Kristy and Mr. Mom, but I could be wrong because I haven't read all the books.

I thought it was so cute in Karen's Hurricane when Andrew started crying and said he wanted Seth. A lot of times, Seth almost seems like the best of all Karen and Andrew's parents. He seems like the one who listens to them the most instead of just getting mad or punishing them without trying to understand where they are coming from or giving them a chance to explain (I'm thinking of Karen's Birthday, especially, when Karen thinks he's the only one at the Little House she can tell her problems to and Watson and Lisa are very quick to call her a "brat" instead of thinking that something might be bothering her). I think Seth is a great guy and Karen and Andrew are lucky to have him. In fact, he might be my favorite BSC client parent.

^In a lot of ways, Seth sounds too good to be true. ;D I'd love to read a fan fic about him.

But yet they can't put aside the awkwardness to celebrate poor Karen's birthday together like she wants.... The more I think of it, the more I think that all came from Nannie (but I mentioned that in the thread on Karen's Birthday so won't go into it again).

As the series went on, I guess they all became more comfortable with each other.

^ I would guess that might have been it, too. But I can't get over the Nannie thing now that I thought of it ;D In Karen's Mermaid, I really liked it how Seth helped Andrew learn in secret to ride the skim board. Another example of Seth being a great dad. I wonder if he would have been just as good of dad to the kids if they would have been his. I know sometimes stepparents try extra hard (and sometimes they are the opposite....)

I'm feeling the Seth love tonight. I just named one of my pets on Facebook after him. ;D I don't remember if this was mentioned before, but I really thought it was touching how concerned he was for Watson after his heart attack in Kristy and Mr. Mom.

Bringing up an almost ancient thread. I was reading Karen's Two Families this past weekend, and I came across something that shocked me. In the book, Karen's all depressed because she doesn't get to see her Big House family enough. At the same time, Astrid of Grenville has just had puppies, and Karen's in love with them and wants to get one. Early on in the book, Lisa and Seth say they don't want another dog, so they're not going to buy one of Astrid's puppy. Anyway, so. Karen's all sad and mopey and Lisa asks what's wrong. She also asks what would make her feel better. When Karen says she doesn't know, Lisa replies: “How about the puppy? Astrid’s last puppy? Maybe we could get another dog after all.” Talk about buying your child's love! Instead of figuring out the problem and finding a solution, just buy your kid a dog! I was just amazed that Lisa stood so firm on not getting a puppy throughout most of the book, but as soon as Karen starts acting mopey, she's ready to cave in and buy her whatever she wants. A lot of people give Watson a hard time about spoiling Karen and always giving into her, but I think Lisa's just as bad. I've decided I'm not a Lisa fan. Seth (whose name I pronounced as "Steth" for some reason when I was just starting out with these books as a kid), on the other hand, is awesome.
