I'm sure Lisa knew the real reason for Karen's unhappiness, but she selfishly didn't want the custody arrangements to change, which is understandable. I'm glad that she finally gave in after seeing how unhappy Karen and Andrew were.

I enjoyed the books that took place at the little house. Lisa and Seth were sweet and they really and truly are great parents to Karen and Andrew. I wondered if they ever thought of having a baby too.

It's not impossible that they would; if time were to pass I think it's fairly likely.

I thought there was a book where Karen practically begged them to have a baby, and they basically said that they weren't going to, ever. Karen's Baby or soemthing?

I can hear Karen doing that, but I'm surprised they wouldn't ever want any of their own. Seth hardly seems the sort who would never want a child he'd sired himself.

^I'm not at all surprised that he doesn't. He has two other kids living with him most of the time, that he cares about. Not everyone needs that "biological" link; frankly I think blood is WAY overrated and people who spend thousands of dollars to have their "own" children while other children starve for attention or food or love should just .. i don't know. Something bad should happen to them. Frankly, I really like the fact that not all the newly blended families are jumping to add more kids to their mix.

Forget about Seth's desires. Lisa gave birth to two kids already. Maybe she didn't want to have any more. I agree with Penny Lane regarding Seth and the kids' relationship. He certainly acted like they were "his" kids.

I always liked Seth a lot. I thought he was always very good to Karen and Andrew and like he really loved and cared about them like they were his own flesh and blood.

Okay, I guess I can see it either way. I guess I mean he's not the sort who'd decide against having any of his own, naturally speaking. My DH is adopted, and while I'm conscious of it, I also know his parents are his parents, genetically or not.

I guess they just figure two kids is enough. Kids are expensive. I don't think Lisa gets that much in alimony/child support, not as much as you'd figure. She probably wasn't married to Watson for all that long, and child support would really only go toward things that Andrew and Karen need.

Kids *can* be expensive, but a lot of that is based on how the parents do things. Now, if the Engles are paying the school tuition, then, yes, they are having a more expensive bill in raising Karen and Andrew. I'm not sure if Andrew's nursery school is part of Stoneybrook Academy or someplace else. Either way he'll probably be going to SA when he gets to kindergarten.

Elementary school tuition is only part of it. Food, clothes, toys, college tuition... I don't see the Engles as being particularly frugal or anything; they seemed like pretty typical consumers to me.

More or less, yes; I think Watson might have been more extravagant but you're probably right about Lisa and Seth. Although Lisa does, in a hurt tone, apologize to Karen that she can't afford the sort of birthday celebration that Watson can afford.

In some of the books, Seth looks hot. And I like his facial hair. He's got a bit of that Jesus look going on, which is okay with me. Maybe I'm developing a bit of a crush? Oooh, and he's a carpenter, too...

You're attracted to Jesus? He is a little too grunge for me.
