Claud and Stacey's group, because we hear about those kids a lot more and have a better sense of their personalities, much more so than Miranda and Mariah and Lauren.

MA and Kristy because Claudia and Stacey's group were freakin' idiots. I have no desire to watch Pete Black etc shovel food in their mouths and make nasty combinations. I always picture the Shillaber twins as the SBTB twins that randomly always pop up too  |

Yeah the Shillaber Twins and Lauren Hoffman got ditched and so did Dorianne Wallingford, Emily Bernstein, Howie Johnston, Rick Chow and Pete Black. Who would you rather have sat with? Claudia and Stacey's group or Kristy and MA's group? Kristy and MA's. Despite what the girls frequently claimed, the Shillabers etc seemed a good deal more mature than Pete Black etc who enjoyed playing with their food. They acted like toddlers, I dunno why the girls thought that group was so mature and sophisticated. |

I think I'd have rather hung with Kristy & MA's group, simply because my own "group" in middle school was like them. We knew we weren't the "cool" group but didn't care that much. Plus I remember us making fun of the hot lunches. :-)

Claudia and Stacey's group, because the way the group was described at the beginning of the series, it sounded just like the groups of "cool kids" I always wanted to be a part of!

I would've wanted to sit with Stacey and Claudia's group, I would've liked to have been hanging out with the cute boys! Haha. I've never really given much thought to the Shillaber twins. I vaugely remember someone mentioning how the twins were a little hurt after the BSC got all cliquey and sat together at lunch, but that's pretty much all I can recall of them. Macca, I think of the Degrassi twins too when I think of the Shillaber twins! Great, now I've got "Everybody Wants Something" stuck in my head... |

I imagined the Shillaber twins to look like Heather and Erica from the original Degrassi series. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Omg, Heather and Erica! I always remember the abortion episode where Heather goes to Erica, "It's wroooooooooong" and her teethy expression when she said it, since Erica and Heather both had big teeth. Whatever happened to the Shillaber twins? Didn't they move away or something? If not, they should have been used in later books. There could have been a lot of potential. Maybe one of the twins gets together with Stacey during her Bad Girl days? |

Pulling this thread back up a decade on haha, but when I last re-read Kristy's Great Idea, I couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if Ann had used either one of the Shillaber twins as Dawn's replacement instead of creating Abby and Anna Stevenson. I assume having new characters was a strategy to gain/retain readership, but maybe having one of the Shillaber twins become a full-time BSC member would have been just as interesting.

That would have been neat! Have both of the Shillabar twins join. And yes, like the Stevenson twins, they both have curly dark hair. I love that dark brown hair that so many of the BSC members and so many Stoneybrookers have. |
