I would love to see that list. And in the beginning I really liked to read about what all the girls were wearing and picture it in my head, but after a while it got kinda old. It was like - yeah, yeah, Kristy wears jeans, Dawn is California casual - let's get on with the story!

I rented some of the Clarissa Explains it All dvds a while back, and Clarissa dressed pretty much how I pictured Claudia looking. Sometimes she looked cute and sometimes she looked like a 4 year old who dressed herself in the dark.

I wished they had pics of Claudia's outfits on the covers or inside of the books.

We should totally make that list of Claudia outfits! We could each take a couple of books and do it... It could be the comprehensive Stoneybrook style guide. Heh.

I'll find all the outfits, but only if someone's gonna volunteer to draw them up for us

Haha, we should model them! Make a catalogue!

There were some Claudia outfits I actually WANTED, but those were pretty much limited to the earlier books where her outfits really WERE trendy for that time period, and before they just got weird. Once, I went through all my BSC books and put in a little scrap of paper whenever they described one of Claudia's or Stacey's outfits. They were going to be my inspiration.

What is that even supposed to be? I can't imagine walking down the street wearing the things she wears.

Do you think people assumed she was homeless?

^ Probably not, actually. I've seen some weird artsy types dressed in Claudia outfits. They're usually older than 13 though.

She's probably too clean to look homeless. Although, it is Stoneybrook...
Why does Mary Anne always wish she could pull off Claud's outfits? I thought she hated drawing attention to herself. (Uh, that didn't sound right.)

^ Mallory was always desperate to imitate the Claudia outfits as well. Now if those outfits are laughable on a beautiful Asian girl, could you imagine them on a sturdy redhead with huge glasses and clear blobs on her teeth?!
I will never understand why in some books Claudia was described as sophisticated (in addition to Stacey). What is sophisticated about papier mache earrings?!

macca, please. She had a button-down shirt with VEGETABLES printed on it and you question her sophistication?

Speaking of Stacey, I don't think any outfit will ever beat the one she wore to cheer herself up over her parents' impending divorce. Wooden fruit jewelry with suspenders over a sweatshirt. Yeah, nothing says sophistication like a banana hanging around your neck.

^ "suspenders over a sweatshirt"? - she probably looked like a scarecrow.
