There's this commercial I've been seeing lately that totally makes me think of Claudia. It's for something called the Verizon Hub, which I think is like a landline phone you can send text messages and stuff with. So in the commercial, this Asian girl sends a text to her mom saying she found the dress she wants for homecoming, and she sends a photo. The dress is bright yellow-green with zebra stripes and puffy leopard print boots, and the girl has a really high ponytail and is wearing a bunch of pink plastic bracelets. Anyway, the mom responds "Absolutely not!" and sends her a link to the "Proper Ladies Dress Barn." It just totally makes me think of Claudia and what kind of dibble accessories she could add to it, and the mom looks kind of how I picture Mrs. Kishi, too. I found it on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV28l3QwQk0&feature=related

I've seen that commercial before and can't believe I didn't make the connection! That IS Claudia and her mom in 2009.

I go out of my way to not watch commercials so the fact that people post them on YouTube and comment on them is funnier to me than the commercial itself. The commercial is very Claudia-like.

I don't understand why that's a bad Claudia outfit?...seems very simple.

Wow i was trying so hard to be claudia and stacey too from 4th to 7th grade, but I had big glasses and long, long hair cause I wanted to be like claudia, but it was a disaster. I would even make my own jewelry from crayola kits like jazzy jewelry and match them up with my outfits and it looked nice, but everyone at school was so boring and wore tracksuits. I even wore hats sometimes and still do like them as an adult time to time. I started looking okay in 8th grade, got a haircut, contacts, and looked like a nice cross between Stacey and Mary Anne, which still would describe me today I guess.

Suppeazz, if you can wear hats well, you should wear them often. It's a talent (one I'm happy I have myself) and a nice basic hat can last a longtime.

I remember the inside out outfit and the one with two halves combined
It definitely does sound like something Kris Kross or even TLC's left eye would have worn in the early 90's, those 3 were total claudias!

In the 90's I liked the kinds blossom and lenni from ghostwriter wore. In this decade, I wore fedoras quite a bit, but for the past few years, I've mostly worn caps and floppy hats. I think I know where it starts, there are pictures of me from my birthday parties under age 5 and I'm wearing a fancy hat with a matching dress

There's been some pretty big stinkers, as far as Claudia outfits are concerned. Anything with stirrup pants is especially bad. I know those were a fad back in the day, but even then I didn't care for them and I'm shocked to see people wearing them still! While the watermelon-themed outfit is weird, it wasn't too bad. My votes for the two worst Claudia outfits are both from Dawn and the Big Sleepover: -First one is a description from Dawn in chapter 2. She says Claudia came into school wearing a yellow blazer, a wide paisley tie, orange stirrup pants, ankle boots, and wide hoop earrings. That's just...how can anyone find that trendy? I'm going to rehash what I said in my snark and say that Claudia must look like Big Bird when he's wearing a tie. farm3.static.flickr.com/2257/2285352582_bbbd9ba48c.jpg (Just picture that as Claudia) -Second one was mentioned in this thread already. Her Pebbles-themed outfit, and Dawn said about it "On anyone else, it would have looked dumb or babyish, but on Claudia it looked cool." Um, dressing up as Pebbles Flintstone is not cool or trendy. That's a Halloween costume!

HAHAHA Big Bird wearing a tie.
I got so tired of "On anyone else, it would be strange..." They can't handle it when Ashley Wyeth dresses the way she does, same with Tess Swinhart, etc. You're a fool if your clothes are out of the ordinary and your name isn't Claudia Kishi.

A wide paisley tie...did it escape from someone's photo album from 1974?
