^ To be honest, I can't ever remember them being a huge hit. But half the stuff the BSC obsessed over didn't really EVER seem to be particularly cool even though their clothes were always described as "trendy" - which would indicate a trend, right? Ugh.

I don't think visors were necessarily TRENDY, but I don't think they were considered dorky or anything. Kristy isn't one to keep up with trends, as they point out time and time again, but she wasn't a total nerd or anything.
Wow I had no clue Abby was that tall.

When I think of visors I think of the sandwich makers at Subway or McDonalds cashiers. For some reason lots of fast food workers wear them which is weird because they don't exactly act as hair nets or anything.
I thought Dawn was in the 5'7" range also. Although all Kristy had to do was throw an Oreo at her and she'd run the other way.

^ My sister thinks they are cool too. She wears the one where there is a black screen attached that covers most of your face when pulled down - it blocks out the sun.

^ Kristy's Look wouldn't be so effective with that though!

It's a shame they never tried to freak out Kristy with her own rules. They should have all gotten to a meeting early and changed Claudia's clock. Then Kristy would walk in at "5:40" or something with someone else sitting in the director's chair and everyone giving her Looks. Why is it that Dawn is an individual because she dresses however she wants, yet Kristy is a baby for wearing jeans and sweaters ("they're comfortable!")? Interesting that Kristy's the only one who doesn't need a bra yet. So that means Jessi and Mallory do? No wonder Toby went after Mal.

Ha. That's a good idea. They should have done that. In The Secret Life Of Mary Anne Spier, Kristy and Mary Anne are almost late for a meeting when the bus from Washington Mall gets stuck in traffic. They run in just as the clock switches to 5:30 and the rest of the BSC is disappointed since they'd all been practicing their version of the Look to give Kristy.
Excellent point, especially since Dawn seems to mostly wear jeans or shorts with t-shirts. Jeans and sweaters are nicer than that.

EXCELLENT point!
And total word on the freaking-Kristy-out thing. Ha, that'd be classic. I'm surprised Kristy wasn't ever late, considering she was relying on someone to drive her to the meetings. I mean, didn't they ever get stuck in traffic?

^ Oh but she's the madam president. The roads are cleared out and the red carpet is rolled out for her whenever she goes to her all-important meetings.

Seriously. It's like they only do books when it's one of those weekends. Would it have been so bad to have a David Michael story for once? To take a post from waaaay back and make the incredibly obvious joke: instead of using Karen all the time, they could have finally confirmed all our suspicions and done "Kristy and the Bastard Child". But, yeah; getting back on topic, as the series progressed, Kristy and her rules got way more annoying. And, after a certain point, no matter how much they added to her Looks, they needed to have a group intervention to get her off those visors.

Was flipping through a magazine article on women who started their own business and it caught my attention that one of them was named Kristi Thomas Just thought this was funny. Also got me thinking about how the books are always talking about what a good businessperson Kristy is but yet she seems almost angry when someone else comes up with a good idea or makes a point to improve on one of hers - like she's the only one who is allowed to have ideas. A good businessperson, according to my understanding, should accept and consider others' views and ideas with hopes of gaining something. Of course, Kristy has been successful with her ideas but some of the other girls had good ideas, too, that she immediately rejected (often with the "look"). This is the one aspect of Kristy's personality that drives me crazy.
