Going back to the whole visors thing -- if I remember right, visors were very "in" around 2001/2002. I knew a lot of people that had them (okay, mostly guys), usually with their college name on the front, maybe in khaki. I don't think anyone would wear them now, but for like a year, they were trendy in the preppy world. In fact, I think I owned an American Eagle visor, but I wore it maybe once.

I never wore a visor but won several for horse show awards. They always made me think of Kristy. ;D

I remember visors being crazy popular around 1999. Everyone had to have one, and they wore it all crazy. I think it was part of "street culture"... then they were popular with everyone. and died out soon after. I had a pink Ralph Lauren one. I still do, I wear it to play tennis sometimes. It doesn't look to horrible, and it's comfortable.
EDIT: I'm now a s-i-t!!! Yay!

In Truth About Stacey, it says that Kristy always sits on the floor but took MA's place in the director's chair at one meeting. When did she change to sitting in the chair at every meeting? I don't see her as being more laid back about the club at the beginning but maybe just not having developed the "rituals" (not sure what else you'd call them ;D) in the earlier books.

I don't know, where people sit just kind of becomes "natural" for lack of a better word. Like my suitemate and I in the dorms -- we both had our spaces in the shared space, even though it was never really talked about. And when our friends came over, they had the certain spots they would sit. It just sort of happens. People become accustomed to where they sit. It happens in classrooms too -- after the first week or so, if someone is sitting in your spot -- it kind of throws you off, right? Even though there isn't assigned seating..
And when Mal and Jessi join all late, everyone has already "claimed" the nice spots... even though they really hadn't. By choosing her space on the floor, she assumed a position where she let the other girls tell her what to do.
I figured that Kristy started sitting the chair one day, and realized it was comfortable. No one ever took it from her after that, so it just kind of stuck. And after a week or so of meetings, if someone else sat there, it would be "weird". Maybe she just got there first three days in a row?

^ That's kind of what I figure with the chair too because I always notice the assigned "seats", too. In fact, I have been known to get to class way early just to make sure no one takes "my" seat. ;D Agree about someone sitting in your spot throwing you off. It just feels wrong. ;D

Now I'm trying to figure out what would be our "chairs" or "seats" on here. ;D

^ ;D I'll go for that. I kind of wanted to claim it and actually do have a director's chair near my computer at home. ;D They're not very comfy, though, so I've got books stacked in mine.... ;D
