I'm not sure who my favorite BSC mom is since I like a lot of the moms on the list.

This IS tough. Quick question didn't Kristy say Nannie was in her early 70's in SS#1? For some reason I'm thinking 73. If Elizabeth began the Series at age 37 and was the oldest of Nannie's three daughters (I just remember Colleen was the youngest. I don't recall if Theo was older or younger than Elizabeth) than Nannie was 36 when E was born. So she would have been 61 when Kristy was born and 65 going on 66 when that ***hole Patrick abandoned his family. It's conceivable at that time she might have either just retired or was in the process of doing so..still it really was ironic that until Watson, she never showed up.
Before learning of and really thinking about Elizabeth's treatment of her kids post divorce, I would have voted for her hands down. I do admire her strength of character but not to the extent of how she inflicted slave-like duties upon Charlie. (I mean for his young age). He was not her husband or man of the house. He was 9/10 years old FFS! Then, we all know how she foisted EM onto Nannie, ignored DM and Andrew for that matter...but then didn't they all? I think DM and A were two most abanonded kid characters.
All that said, I think my favorite living mother (otherwise I'd opt for Alma) would be Mrs. Pike. She indeed was awesome in Abby and Wonderland and very level-headed in Christmas Chiller. I never gave fair thought to Rioko. I wonder if as aln suggested, a lot of Claudia's focus on books/food being completely forbidden is in her head or if hoarding is merely her way of coping (which I sort of think it is).
Sharon gets my vote bigtime for worst mom!

I picked Mrs. Pike as my favorite mom. She seems like a fun mom to have.

Solid tie between Maureen and Rioko but I voted Maureen since I love her relationship with Stacey.

I didn't, but Alma seems like she would've been a good mom. She got the Mimi edit (nobody is going to talk bad about the dead).

I liked Maureen's redemption arc.

I voted for Mrs Kishi. I don’t remember much about the BSC parents but she seemed very caring about her children’s well-being and was involved in their education. And she’s a librarian, so that’s always a plus.

I voted for Rioko too. She was a lot more caring and supportive than Claudia thought she was.

I'm surprised Shannon's mom got votes. Every time we see her, she's being nosy.

Shannon’s mom seemed sooo bored, I felt sorry for her.

Perhaps people feel like Shannon was relatable. She had her flaws for sure. Personally, I found her irritating. But I know that my mother is most like Shannon out of all the BSC moms.
