We really didn't get to see them at all together, but I feel like given Abby's mother's reaction to her father's death in Abby's Portrait that the two of them together had to have been completely amazing. (I mean, not that she wouldn't have missed her husband anyway, but you know what I mean.)
I agree that the Odd Couple thing that Sharon and Richard have going is a *little* unrealistic, but they seem to get along just fine. It's Dawn and MA who really have the problems with it. :-p

^ I never thought of that with Abby's parents but you're right. It makes it even sadder.....

Mr. and Mrs. Pike. I'm a huge Pike fan.

Richard sounded almost, dare I say, cute whenever he teased Sharon. Must get that image out of my head, lol.
The Ramseys were boring to read about (like daughter, like parents...) but they seemed loving and supportive of each other. Anyone who recruits his grumpy older sister to come live with him so that his wife can go back to work has to be in a good relationship.

Opposites attract, ie - Richard and Sharon. Plus, I think Richard really did, uh, loosen up, when he rekindled his relationship with Sharon. He hadn't had any, uh, loving, in a long time. Hehe.

i love the ramseys. they seemed the most down to earth, and i love how patient they are with the kids. to me it feels much more real than watson and elizabeth, who really have the same sort of situation -- ten year difference between the kids, an older relative living with them to take care of the baby, etc. in happy holidays jessi, i LOVE how mr. ramsey stands up to aunt c and tells her that she doesn't make the decisions for his family. instead watson and elizabeth allow nanny to take full responsibility for EM and are always going to estate sales looking for birdbaths. to the four or five people above me discussing richard and sharon's love life, you have officially ruined dawn's wicked stepsister for me. the honeymoon chapter will never be the same :]

I picked the Pikes because they have eight kids and still have a good humor about it. Also, they've being married to each other long enough to see each other's flaws and still enjoy being with each other.
