Did I miss any? (besides the mancusis' dogs... too many!)
Now that I think about, there's really not too many dogs in the BSC.
Anyway, I'm voting for Carrot. he seems to have the most personality.

I voted for Louie (Mary Anne moment. It's so SAD when he dies and he seemed like such a wonderful pet), but I do like Carrot a lot. I really like reading about him in Stacey and the Mystery at the Empty House.

I voted for Louie too. Aw. Sniff. (Obviously for the same reason as others have mentioned, that it was so sad when he died. Other than that I don't really know that much about him, except that David Michael had him since he was a baby and so forth.)

I really don't like dogs at all but voted for Carrot since he seems like the least smelly ;D (I know this sounds mean but I am terribly allergic and can almost "smell" the longer haired dogs just by reading this thread ;D) Pow is kind of funny, too, now that I realize he is a Bassett hound. And Poodles can be cute so Noodle might not be bad. Besides, I like that name ;D I absolutely can't stand Chewy and don't care for the other ones, either, except Bo might be okay.

Louie. I am not a dog person at all but even I cried when he died, so he gets my vote. though gotta say I was tempted to vote for Astrid just because the whole name is so hilarious

I like Louie. He just seemed like such a sweet good natured dog. He would put up with a lot from the kids.

I voted for Chewy just because I love reading about the little Perkins girls trying to control him. I think I like all the dogs, though.

I like them all, too, but I had a soft spot for Louie. I cried when he died and the kids had a "funeral" for him. My next favorite BSC dog is probably Pow. He seemed like such a sweet dog, not to mention a tolerant one. (He'd have to be, to live with the Barretts AND the Pikes.)

I've been wondering what a Bernese Mountain Dog is exactly. For some reason, I picture Shannon as kind of a scruffy long haired small dog (almost like a small collie) but that's probably way off since I tend to picture Louie as a kind of lab/mutt.

Those dogs are cute!! It's funny, I NEVER picture Astrid and Shannon as looking the same, even though they are the same kind of dog. I always pictured Shannon as being kind of scruffy, like Louie. Then I pictured Astrid as some pristine, white, fancy-looking dog. Not at all like how she looks on the cover of Kristy and the Snobs.

Thanks for the link. Those dogs are actually cute (I'm not a dog person and still thought so ;D) but not at all how I picture Shannon. I see her like a small collie (and a quite hyper one) and Louie as a kind of longhaired lab/mutt (kind of like a dog my aunt and uncle used to have, I think). As for Astrid, I can't get a good mental picture of her but picture her somewhere between a small collie and a small poodle. I picture Scout a lot like one of the real Bernese Mountain Dogs with some Jack Russell and more refined traits. What kind of dog is he? Very strange how I come up with these totally inaccurate mental pictures ;D
