Another reason I say it "Lane" is that "Lainey" sounds "cuter" and "cute" just doesn't fit Laine Cummings. ;D I can see her insisting it's pronounced "Lane" even if it really shouldn't be because she thinks that sounds more sophisticated. ;D I definitely agree. I just don't see the Lain-ee. It would have an extra 'i', wouldn't it? (Lainie). David Blaine isn't David Blainey and Elaine from Seinfeld isn't Elainey LOL,David Blainey ;D.

I used to say it lane-ey for the longest time, but then I noticed that the i was before the n and not the other way around, so i just started calling her Lane.

I've always called her Lane, and I think in a couple of the books, Claudia actually spells her name "Lane". Not positive on that, but that's how I learned how to pronounce a lot of peoples' names-- Claudia's bad spelling!

I've always said "lane" too. I like her name though.

I always thought of it as Laney, but I'm retraining myself to think Lane.

Lane must be one of those guys' names that turn into snooty rich girl names. Like "Blair". No matter how many fabulous TV characters have the name Blair (Facts of Life, Gossip Girl) I will always think of Blair Underwood.

I picked Lane-ee since I've always thought of it as "Laney."

I've decided that if some people can spell Jamie "Jaime" then Laine can be pronounced as "Laney".
