very true, macca, but in Dawn and the School Spirit War, it wasn't just the girls, it was the whole school up in arms over the dumbest "problem" ever.

Eh, maybe it's an entire Stoneybrook problem?

I'm trying to think back to the ones I really disliked as a child. Jessi and the Superbrat and Jessi's Babysitter spring to mind immediately.
I didn't used to like Kristy and the Baby Parade but I reread it recently and it cracked me up. It also seems to me that Mallory and the Dream Horse has too many subplots.

Kristy and the Sister War and Mary Anne and Miss Priss. Not completely awful, but they don't warrant many re-reads...

"Dawn and the School Spirit War...." what a ridiculous waste of time, paper, and ink. I totally agree, that book was soo annoying.

I can barely remember Dawn and the School Spirit War. I only read it once, when it was first published. I'm not really eager to reread it, but I will someday.

it's worth it for the snark factor, though.

I just reread it. Well skimmed. Yeah I think it is the worst book ever.

Oh you should, just to snark on Mary Ann for her bizarre panic attack over wearing pyjamas to school. Mary Ann got progressively weirder and more passive agressive over the course of the books, but this one just takes the cake!

Why couldn't she just wear tracksuit/sweat pants and a t-shirt? I mean, geez... I understand being shy and all, but crying over the prospect of wearing pyjamas to school when everyone else would be doing the same thing? MA certainly had an exaggerated sense of self-importance.

Exactly, I'm sure there are plenty of people who sleep in a tracksuit and t-shirt. Even if you don't you can always pretend you did. Who would know?
