I read somewhere that most people change their friends every 2 - 4 years. Not all their friends, but they might end up hanging out with a different group of people. I have had the big fights with friends, like in Stacey's Ex-BFF, and the just general growing apart, and the moving thing; yet I still don't really relate to Stacey's Ex-Best Friend. I guess because I've been in Laine's place more than Stacey's. I didn't really realize how snobby/annoying/stuck up I was being until much, much later. When you have completely different interests from someone you used to be close with it's really hard to reconnect.
There are lots of parts of the books and different aspects of several of the characters I can relate to. I really wish I would have read "Shannon's Story" when I was a kid, because I can really relate to that book. I also really understand the frustration that Dawn and Claudia felt in "Island Adventure", even though my "stranded on an uninhabited island" story does not involve children, nor any sort of dramatic rescue. I can always relate to Stacey McGill Super Sitter, even though I never read it until I was.. oh, 25 or so.
I also can relate a lot to Stacey's Big Crush and Dawn and the Older Boy. I can't even read Stacey's Big Crush, it's too embarrassing. Dawn's Big Date, I understand the need to make yourself over; and having your friends be all weirded out.

Yeah, I can read Stacey's Big Crush up until she gives him the poem and confesses that she's in love with him. I skip that part and go into the dance.
As an afterthought to that book, it's weird that Sam goes to the dance with some random never before mentioned 8th grader. At least with Stacey, she's a friend of his sister's, it's not like he was scoping out the middle school for her.

I can relate to The Truth About Stacey because I was just like Charlotte in that book when I was her age.

I can relate to Abby and the Notorious Neighbor, because my mom actaully knew a person on an American Justice episode. ( I think I accidentally, said Cold Case Flies, in my introduction) One night back in '88 we were watching 20/20, when my mom looked at the screen and said " I know her! " A women she taught with was killed along with her family, and the husband buried them in a barn! Mom said one day, the "wife" (the woman she taught with) just dissapeared. What a way to find out what happened to your co worker! Turn on 20/20!! (Later they made an American Justice about it.) It was the one where a guy from Mo. that killled his family in Ohio, because he joined a cult, and killed them! Small world! I know how Abby feels!

What a creepy story! My brother and I used to watch America's Most Wanted every week hoping we'd see someone we recognized. We never did. THANK GOD.

My grandparents actually know the parents of a convicted murderer. He murdered his best friend over a girl.

^ Crazy! Recently, a man killed his girlfriend and (horrifically) chopped the poor girl to pieces and stuffed her into a suitcase! It's terrible! Anyway, a friend of mine knew the girl's brother. He had met her and her boyfriend before, as well. I was like

That's awful nothingtolose.
About 5 years ago one of my good friends was stabbed to death and then dismembered. They found her in two duffel bags about 2 weeks later.

I was going to tape something on my VCR (yes, I still have one of those) last night, and I thought of the time Claudia had to sit and watch a rerun of some art special with all the commercials (*the horror!*) because she had set the VCR wrong and it taped at like 2AM instead of 2PM. I've done that so many times. ;D

I can relate to Claudia during the whole Stacey vs. Claudia arc in the FF books. I've had a good friend "steal" a guy from me, and it isn't fun! The big difference is that she married the guy and I haven't talked to either of them in years!

In Kristy's Great Idea and MA Saves the Day, they make a lot of comments about how Stacey and Claudia are so grown up and so ahead of them, while Kristy and MA are still behind. I related to that so much in middle school, for obvs reasons.
I second Stacey's Ex Best Friend. While it wasn't quite as dramatic as Stacey and Laine's fight, I related to the whole you and your friends are growing apart and it isn't easy.
