I have no idea. She was thinking of a place... Maybe she really liked the place or the name of the place, that whenever she thinks of a place,Philadelphia always comes to mind? Also in Claudia and the Worlds' Cutest Baby, her teacher mentions about touring the US Mint, and Claudia leans over and whispers to Abby about how she just loves mint. LoL. Oh,that's totally hilarious!!!

Some of my funniest moments:
Stacey thinking she's so cool taking the club to the Hard Rock Cafe and being totally mortified when Kristy orders fill-it-mig-nun in Stacey's Mistake.
David Michael dressing up as the rock star Bruce Stringbean in the Let's All Come In game in Beware, Dawn.
Mrs. Wellfleet, the obnoxious busybody who criticized Mallory's handling of Jenny's temper tantrum in the park in Aloha Babysitters. The speech she gave Kristy when she called during a meeting was hilarious. Lecturing about childcare, telling Kristy to make sure shirts advertising the club are worn by competent childcare personnel, telling her to fire Mallory, and asking if Mallory would have put Jenny in a cardboard box for 3 hours if Jenny's mother told her to. Because, you know, ignoring a tantrum is a form of child abuse. The best part was how mad Kristy got because Mrs. Wellfleet hung up before Kristy could tell her what a nosy creep she was. Mrs. Wellfleet was comedy gold.
The pig farm goof call at the end of Poor Mallory.
The scene in Claudia's Freind Friend when Claudia finally snaps and unloads on Stacey. "For you? From Sam?" "Give me a break! Who died and left you the only person who could get a note from somebody?" Classic. And the later scene when she's talking to Mary Anne and Stacey at the same time and every time she speaks to Mary She's she's all nice and sweet, but when she speaks to Stacey she's practically snarling. Cracks me up every time.
The letter Mallory writes to the Bug Off Bug Spray Company at the end of Shadow Lake, telling them exactly how many mosquito bites she got while using their product and suggesting they call it something else. And their response of two coupons for her next purchase.

I think my favorite ones are anything Abby-related and in "The Ghost At Dawn's House" when Vanessa and Margo put all that shampoo in Claire's hair. (I think Claire should've been running in place while she was screaming. That would've been hilarious. On the upside, though, we wouldn't have gotten to hear "See, Mom? I told you, Ennis poured water on the baby, the shampoo run into her eyes, and she may be blinded for life!")

I just re-read Jessi Ramsey, Pet Sitter and came across a scene I had completely forgotten about. Mary Anne brings the Perkins girls to visit while Jessi's taking care of the animals and discovers the snake isn't in his aquarium. She flips out and starts screaming. Jessi asks what's wrong, Mary Anne says "the snake is loose" and they both freak out and jump on chairs. The Perkins girls look at them like they're crazy and Myriah calmly points out a snake could slither right up a chair.
Later in the book Jessi, Dawn, and Claudia crawl under Claudia's bed in search of junk food and when they crawl out Kristy, Mary Anne, and Mallory are standing in the doorway staring at them. Kristy says she hopes she gets to every meeting in time to see their backsides sticking out from under the bed and Dawn replies "my backside is my best side."

oh, i love that part! claudia can be so funny.
one of the moments that always makes me laugh is elizabeth's whole thing in kristy's big day, where she's super calm and then starts freaking out about the wedding. i love that she thinks the caterer will laugh at her.

The red ribbon plotting in Phantom Phone Calls and really most all of Bad Luck Mystery are so very funny.

This part in Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls:
She saw that Rob was about to say something, so she added, "One false move and I'll punch your lights out. That goes for all of you. Do you hear me?"
I can't see later Kristy saying this!

can't remember if I responded to this and feel too lazy to check
little orphan annie eyes from Alan Gray in Logan Likes Mary Anne
Karen Brewer writing Kristy that mean letter in Karen's Doll
Though Laine was mean in Stacey's Ex Best Friend, her comments at the dance like calling the cookies kindergarten snacktime were kind of funny
Pete Black: you have hair like Gossamer
Supprazz!
silly billy goo goo
Valery Spike silly play
when Dawn scared Mary Anne out of their room with the rose and chicken bone
when Mallory wanted to be a blonde so badly
Karen pretending it's her birthday when having breakfast with the Disney characters
Stacey and Laine making fun of that snobby kid Randall in their class
when janine showed up at the table in awful makeup in the mystery at claudia's house
karen: mmmmm this is the best pizza ever!
nancy and andrew messing up karen's tea party before the big one
the ricky cookie in karen's sleepover
the hatey hoffman song
when karen was pranked in karen's big joke, I find it even funnier now

I've always loved the part in Keep Out, Claudia! where Claud calls the weather hotline on the day of the kids' concert.
I'm laughing like an idiot just thinking about it.

^ I think Claudia is one of the more naturally funny sitters. Abby (naturally) and Kristy are up there, too!
