I am one of those who didn't think Robert was all bad..I mean the way he cheated on Stacey wasn't cool, and his behavior in Stacey's Ex-Boyfriend frustrated me, up until the part he showed up crying and she had to console him, but other than that, I don't hate him.

1. Sharon was selfish to move Dawn and Jeff cross country after the divorce. I didn't feel bad for her when they moved back to Cali. 2. I think 11 year olds babysitting is ridiculous. Their own siblings, sure, but little kids and babies...nah. 3. The plot device of the older babysitters being bad ones in the early books was so stupid. I would think they'd be the better babysitters. 4. I wish they had shown Watson adopting Kristy and her brothers or Sharon adopting Marty Anne. 5. Logan and Shannon's books were overall useless and added little to the plot, even though I liked the latter's. I think these are all extremely popular opinions around here. Except the Sharon and Mary Anne thing. Never really heard that brought up. I never felt like they were all that close or that Mary Anne was looking for someone to fill the mom role.

I agree. In my opinion, he was basically painted as being perfect until the cheating scandal. When we see him next as a depressed teen in Ex-Boyfriend, I can sympathize with him (not to mention that he was a good character choice as he's not in the main Stoneybrook gang so main plots wouldn't be influenced as much in the future).

I think Shannon does seem kind of snobbish for very often referring (in thought, speech or writing) to Astrid as "Astrid of Grenville."

He looks so different on the cover of ex bf, like he should have painted holding a beer lol. Up until then he was this cool guy with dark hair, dimples, and an easy going personality. He turned into jack Schafer on that cover!

Yeah, on Ex Boyfriend, he was a blonde instead of a brunette like he’s supposed to be. That always kind of bothered me.

I agree, he was a totally different person in every regard!

I didn't like Mary Anne's short hair on the covers (with the exceptions of 66, 67 and Mary Anne's Book. I was real happy when her hair grew back in the Friends Forever series.
Whenever I reread post-Mary Anne's Makeover, I imagine MA's hair looking like the way Rachel Leigh Cook's hair did in the movie.

^ I agree. Sometimes it looked a little too much like Madeline Kahn in Clue. But I would also add that it looks super cute on the cover of The Fire at Mary Anne's House too.

Why in the world do people think Kristy is a lesbian? I never understood that one. Because she was a tomboy and never cared about fashion etc. Which is incredibly stupid and this is what the fan fic writers made up. It was basically the fan fic writers that came up with that idea about Kristy. My unpopular opinion: 11 year olds being left alone ALL WEEKEND to take care of an 8 and 1 year old. And 11 year olds taking care of their siblings who is just a year younger!

I'm sorry to be in a Logan hating mood tonight, but this is going to be my last post of the evening about him.
I think Logan helped Kerry hide Tigger. No nine year old that I know of could have gotten away with hiding a kitten in the closet for very long, so that's why I thought that Kerry had help. And that explains why Logan was a pain in the butt to Mary Anne for pretty much all of the book.

Margo hid those things that she stole for a pretty long time, lol, even though it might not be the same since Tigger was a live thing, lol.

It always annoyed me how pushy Watson was the way he talked Karen into visiting Hannie in Karen's Haircut.

Here's mine: I actually really enjoy Jessi books.
I don't know if this is unpopular or not - Jackie Rodowsky is one of my favourite clients (to be fair, seven is one of the most fun ages - they don't try to test authority, but they are old enough to carry on a proper conversation).

I always thought that Claudia being Asian wasn't as pointed out and exaggerated as Jessi being black. In the chapter twos, the sitters says things like "I'm sorry to be blunt, but Jessi is black" and "I'm going to be straightforward-and I'm usually not-but Jessi is black" while for Claudia they just say that she's Japanese or Japanese-American. Also, it would've been nice to read about Claudia encountering racism like Jessi did (other than Keep Out, Claudia). I actually like Jessi. Well, her CHARACTER, anyways. Her BOOKS are real doozies. I think she's a really nice girl and a good friend not only to Mal but to everyone (and she never started a fight, I believe). Her ballet is interesting though it is unrealistic that she gets the leading role in EVERY SINGLE PLAY, but whatever. Plus her family seems really nice and friendly and the most involved out of all the BSC families besides the Kishi's. First of all, I sort of agree about Claudia being a different ethnicity. I remember the whole point of "Keep Out, Claudia" was that she had to handle being discriminated against just for being Japanese-American. Even then, it's downplayed. Mrs Lowell lets Claudia babysit when she shows up on the doorstep, and only asks after not to send her again. Similarly, Mrs Lowell says that she "did a perfectly adequate job", allowing that there was actually nothing wrong with Claudia's behaviour or babysitting. The fact that she allows Kristy to babysit, however, makes her reasoning "The children simply adore Mary Anne" very weak. However, when Jessi shows up, she doesn't even give her a chance, saying she doesn't need a sitter in order not to be forced into letting a black girl into her house. Second, there are actually a couple of Jessi fights. Remember "Mary Anne In The Middle" when everyone at SMS is picking on Mal, and she decides to go to boarding school? Jessi knows she's going to miss her best friend like crazy, so she acts the worst she's ever been and spends all her time complaining to Mary Anne about Mallory being "selfish". Excuse me, Jessi, but she'd already tried to wait for the bullying to stop, and it's been a while and it hasn't. Now she has the chance to go to a new school that will probably improve her future and make life easier for her, but you want her to stay in Stoneybrook and be miserable because you like her. Who's the selfish one? Needless to say, that is the one book where I really disliked Jessi. She was pretty good in the other ones, in spite of being far too talented and accomplished at ballet for an eleven-year-old.
