Just reread a few days ago but forgot to post so now I've mostly forgotten what I wanted to say ;D I know we talked about this title already but I still don't get it. There was really no reference to any kind of "phantom" - unless that just meant an unknown person - that I saw. Or was I just missing something? I also am not quite positive what Hillary's motive was. I know her mom was pushing her but am not positive why she kept trying to make Jessi look bad. Did she want the part for herself? Maybe I just didn't read this one carefully enough as I kind of just skimmed it....;D Liked this one as always, even though I admit to skimming the dance stuff. I do enjoy the parts of it that I read about ballet, though, and have learned some stuff Was Hillary in any other dance books?

Hillary was also in Jessi Ramsey Pet Sitter. She and Katie Beth were ticked off that Jessi was now the youngest student in the class (they used to be) and got the lead role in Coppelia. So they made fun of her, calling her the teacher's pet and said that Mme Noelle only gave her the role because she favours the youngest student. Wonder why Hillary didn't try to sabotage her back then...

^ I also wonder that. Maybe her mom just kept pushing her harder? Even in this one, that doesn't seem like an excuse to make Hillary do what she did. Jealousy can be a strong motivator, though, to make people do everything they can to "get" you and make you quit because that's the only way they can win. If they can't beat you fair, they try to get rid of you so I guess Hillary's motives totally make sense and are really plausible.

^ I was wondering about that too. I didn't remember Pet Sitter having any dance stuff in it but know Secret Language was when Jessi befriended Katie Beth. I liked that part and wished they would have developed the relationship in Dance School Phantom.

^ I like reading about Jessi's ballet friends, too. I think it's Lisa in this one who's really sweet and friendly with Jessi. It would've been cool to have Jessi get close to a few of the girls in her ballet classes, and maybe see her - gasp - interact with someone outside the BSC!

^ Agree. Was Lisa ever even in any of the other books? I really liked her, too, and wish that they would have developed some more of these relationships. It seems, though, that they went a different route instead with the NY ballet friends in Big Break. That whole thing seemed kind of forced while the relationship between Katie Beth and Jessi, for example, seemed more "real" because I could see it forming over time.

I'm fairly sure Jessi's dance school was actually closed in that book.

I didn't actually know who it could be, due to the way everyone had a motive, lol.

^ I couldn't solve this one, either ;D Maybe that's why I liked the mystery part of it pretty well. I think this one definitely should have been part of the mystery series. Had they not started that when it was published? I know this was mentioned before.

I have a list of the order of the books, and the first mystery was published after 46 MA misses Logan. So that's why

I really like the description of the girls’ trip to watch Jessi’s practice. It sounds like they’re having so much fun, which brings back good memories for me of being piled in a vehicle with my friends and having a good time. I think memories like this are a big reason I like the BSC. I think the Pet Shows is one of the funniest subplots. I had forgotten about Prisilla drenched in perfume. I wonder if it was the same stuff Karen, Nancy and Hannie used in Shadow Lake. ;D

I liked reading the description about the ballet itself and the costumes worn in it too. I thought it was sweet how jessi got pink and white roses
