Aside from the earring and the weird haircut (later in the series), Ethan seems like a cool guy. Not my type, but probably fun to hang around with.

^ Agree. Just not my type, either, but he does seem like Stacey's type. ;D I'll have to reread this one soon as I always love the Walker kids, too. ;D

I really wish that Stacey had been a bit more upset with the break up in this one. As it was, she was like "okay, no big deal since I've found someone better anyway." I'm feeling a bit down right now because I just found out that someone I used to like just got married. Not that I like him still (haven't even heard from him or thought about him in years) but it does kind of hurt to know that he found someone (who is not me ;D) and is happy while I'm still single. Not that I mind being single but in cases like this, it does kind of make me feel bad. Are there any BSC books where the girls do get upset about a break-up? I don't remember any but could use one to relate to right now. ;D

mary anne misses logan i kind of felt like stacey had been questioning the stability of their relationship anyway and that is why she was able to move on... it was already dead, she was just hanging onto it because it had become routine and a fixture in her life. that stinks that you feel bad aln.

^ I just remembered MA Misses Logan, too. That was on my reread list anyway so might move it up. ;D I feel dumb for feeling bad but.... Agree about why Stacey wasn't upset. Of course, I wasn't too upset, either, about her getting rid of Robert. I can't stand him! ;D

I just read in Stacey's Emergency a comment about eating out that reminded me of the discussion about it on this thread. Stacey said that her dad never cooked for himself and his fridge was practically empty - just like we thought. ;D I can't see Mrs. McGill - pre-divorce and Stoneybrook - cooking either. Not sure why, though.

Stacey and Mrs. McGill seemed to share dinner duty. I think usually Stacey would start it before her mom got home.

^ I remember that, too. I also think that Mrs. McGill got a lot more "domestic" post-divorce. Not sure why I get this impression, though.

she probably got domestic because she had less money and couldn't afford to do stuff like eat out all the time and hire a cleaning service.

And not a breakup book, but whenever I'm having guy problems, I reread Seven Days to a Brand-New Me by Ellen Conford. No, it's not a self-help book; it's about a girl who is trying to use a plan from a self-help book to get a guy to like her. It always makes me feel better.

I liked this book! I thought it was sweet how Robert brought her flowers; I did not think it was nice that he cheated on her.
I was amused that Emily Berstein called the BSC meeting! That was great.
I thought Abby did a pretty good job, at first. I mean, spending all the money wasn't cool, nor was not really haveing a plan or making people do the posters, but it was much more realistic. Of course, it wasn't that realistic how everyone was all "booo abby we hate you"
I hope Kristy's Worst Idea continues with this trend. I think they all take the club a little too seriously sometimes.

I've developed a sort of hatred for Stacey recently so I probably shouldn't have read this one right now. I didn't feel sorry for her at all. I can't believe Robert went to the trouble of sneaking around for a few weeks, but I think he said something like he wanted to make sure it would work out with Andi before he told Stacey. Smart guy. I guess it's realistic that Stacey found someone new immediately. In my Jr. High, kids would break up and be going out with someone new the same day. I think I like Abby in other people's books. I wish she had succeeded at being president. It would have been an interesting development if Abby's less rigid ways had been as successful as Kristy's and the club actually had to pick which way they preferred. One thing that bugged me. Have the Walkers not needed a baby-sitter since Stacey left town? Certainly they could have found a sitter without having to call someone out of state.

Another one of those books where the girls needed to be 16 and not 13. I don't mind Ethan, because certain aspects are true (another 15 year old boyfriend), but Robert does seem to have the most personality out of all of Stacey's exes.

Maybe that's because she dated him the longest, so we saw more of him... And sparklymouse, why the Stacey hatred?

Yeah, I think it's the length of their relationship.
But Ethan. UNF. What a hottie!
I have broken up with someone and then started going out with someone else the same day. It is possible even outside the confines of Junior High.
