I agree with macca in that I hated Lewis, but for different reasons. He seemed like SUCH A GEEK to me. All the things he was saying about what he expected and the girl he started liking...ugh GIVE ME A BREAK. dude was 13 (or 14?), he acted like he was 30. shocking for a BSC book, I know

^ I think that's the reason I liked Lewis so well. I have a thing for geeky older guys. ;D

all i have to say (well, not all, but most of it has been said already) is that this book made teen magazines sound absolutely fascinating to elementary school me.

^ YES!!!! Me, too! I was convinced if I started reading them, I would learn to be cool. Never happened.

^ ;D I never read this book until last year and actually didn't even consider the teen magazines. I never did get into those, though. Just not my thing. I think that's where Dawn got a lot of her "cool" ideas from, though, right? ;D

This book always made me want to use the curling iron afterwards, and brush my hair upside down.
For the record, I think my hair looks ridiculous after brushing it upside down.

^ I have really thick hair, and it takes a REALLY long time to use a curling iron on it. By the time I finish, the hair I curled at the beginning has already gone straight!

I loved this book and read it over and over after getting it, but I can't seem to find it now though I did have it. I thought Mary Anne was such a b*tch to Dawn during the movies when she kept pinching her and telling her what to talk about, no wonder poor Dawn was nervous and messed it up.
I don't get why the BSC were so hard on Dawn dressing up when Claudia has done worse and Stacey is sophisticated. I agree that the Zingy's outfit sounded sooo cute and I wanted one like that, but how realistic is it that they ALL went to the airport with Mr. Bruno to meet Lewis? Realistically, wouldn't someone want to settle down with their family or whoever they are visiting first before meeting a bunch of strangers?
The part about the triplets spying on the girls at the sleepover, and the part where Dawn was acting "too cool" in class cracked me up.

The food in this one always makes me hungry. I could really go for some pigs in a blanket right now, and it's only 10:30am.

Personally I think Claudia felt threatened by Dawn's new look. One of the things Claudia seemed proud of was the creation of her outfits. Even if they sounded like she closed her eyes and pulled stuff out of her closet at random, I think she really did think about and plan her clothes carefully. Then boom. Dawn looked just like her with no effort at all. (Besides destroying 75% of her wardrobe. )

So I say go for it. I think Dawn totally had a point when she wondered why it was okay for Claudia and Stacey to look "stylish and cute" but when she tried dressing that way everyone was like WTH? Not fair to her.

Everyone has the right to look cute. but i think the point was that Dawn didn't look cute, she just looked like a weirdo. Only claudia has the right to look like a weirdo!

Also I think the BSCers were annoyed because Dawn's attitude changed as well. The whole trying to please a guy thing, and Dawn trying to act cool. Although I do bet Claudia was jealous that Dawn could pull of a new look, when dressing "cool" was a Stacey and Claudia thing!

Some people like to experiment with how they look, and that is okay to do. However, I do not think that it is okay to experiment with your attitude towards your friends. Friends re suppose to be supportive, but they are also your friends because they like how you are, and if you change how you are the thing your friends might like about you might be gone.
