peaches should have left the notes or woken someone up to tell them, I'm almost in my 30's and still at home, yet if I leave the house at any hour, day or night, out of courtesy I always say where I'm going I don't, but I probably would have pre-cell phones.

even now, i usually leave a note taped to the tv. it's pretty impossible to miss, and that way my mom won't call me and interrupt :]

i reread this one last night, and i was surprised at the way peaches spent money. she was grabbing all sorts of gourmet ingredients (claudia tells us that peaches isn't checking the prices) and orders the single most expensive baby set at the store, along with all sorts of clothes and stuff -- claudia says the reciept ends up being two feet long. not only is she doing all this after quitting her job, but she hasn't even had a baby shower yet.

^That really does not make sense. Until I remembered this was Peaches first pregnancy (wasn't it)? I was going to say maybe she felt so relieved everything was okay with the baby (this time around) that keeping it that way was her sole focus. I.e. no room in her mind for prices or practicalities. For this book she could have been super excited about her first child and got carried away. Was this baby supposed to be a boy does anyone remember? I THINK before Lynn, (and after this one or was it before this one)? Peaches and Russ had tried several times.

I think they had been trying, too, but I don't know which book(s) it's been mentioned in.
Did Peaches have a shower for Lynne? I can't remember if it was ever mentioned. I know Claudia made a blanket for her, but I don't think that was given at a shower.

I think there was a shower in claudia and the world's cutest baby which for some reason was attended by mostly the bsc or was it a home coming party for lynn?
reading claudia and crazy peaches after having a baby I am baffled by peaches quitting work so early in her pregnancy. I got put on bedrest at 7 months for preeclampsia and quitting work then was bad enough. I was bored out of my mind. my son was born at 36 weeks and I went back to work when he was six weeks old. I lost my job when he was 5 months old and stayed home with him on unemployment for the 3 months it took to find work and determined that as much as I love him being a stay at home mom was not for me so I guess I have trouble relating to Peaches wanting to quit work for the whole motherhood experience even before the baby arrived. I used to think I wasn't meant to be a mom at all but now I think I just wasn't meant to be an at home mommy. I work 4 ten hour days and spend three days at home with my son and love it. I still get plenty of mommy time and I still get grown up time at work. My husband also works 4 10s and we share two days off together with the third one different so our son gets 4 days at home, 2 at daycare and 1 with grandma.
It makes me wonder what russ does if Peaches is just buying everything without a price check. I can't remember what his job is for some reason

^Wasn't the "Welcome, Home Lynn" sign made by Claudia for when Russ, Peaches, and Lynn arrived home? I remember the entire Kishi family deocrated the house, did some cooking, Mr. Kishi even bought m and m's, (that would have been a great subplot)!, but I don't think any outside guests attended? Maybe the shower was seperate.

russ is always so agreeable and laid back, but i wish he would have told peaches that they couldn't afford for her to take so much time off work, or to at least keep the shopping to a minimum. i'm not sure when pregnant women usually quit working, but she is only two months along, and she writes commercial jingles. i'm sure that's the kind of work you can do sitting down, no matter how far along you are. she probably gave up a good five or six months of perfectly good money. considering they are moving and having a baby all in the same year, it's hard to imagine that they can do all this on a single salary.

^I never thought of that. If all Peaches did was write jingles, she definitely could have done that sitting home at work or home. Maybe she could have helped Sharon with her ad campaign in the book where MA helps her at breakfast. I forgot that title again.

She could have started her own jingle business and worked from home too.

Welcome back, Supprazz, I meant to say that in a different thread. You take the prize for re-starting the most threads in one night! I like your "Jingle buisness idea." She could have called it "Peaches' Punchlines."

thanks for the welcome zoar, I always enjoy my visits here, but don't think about BSC everyday like I did in my childhood though when I remember, I clearly feel the withdrawl....oh and the references will come to me still if I see something in everyday life that makes me think of the series I like Peaches' Punchlines

^ If Sharon ever helped out she could have been "Slogans by Sharon."
