What are they thinking over? It's not like most teen pregnancies are planned. Baby Use Some Birth Control would be better.

I got my doll at a very interesting time. We had guests staying over and they couldn't wake me up when it cried, and they ended up abusing it to get it to stop and it showed up 13 times! I had to explain to the teacher what happened before handing it back. I also didn't want to go out with family while having the doll if getting dropped home was out of the way, but I had to bring it with me everywhere and explain it to people over and over again. Plus my sister thought I was spending more time with the doll and doing homework than playing with her, cause she was still a kid! LOL Haha, I remember when I got the doll I had a three day weekend for one - and for the other it was the time in my life when I babysat for two different families on Saturday - one from 9 to 5 and the other basically from whenever I got out of job 1 until midnight or later! In the second job the kids wanted to hear the baby cry so bad that the typically angel of a girl tipped the baby's head back to force him to cry. Love it.

I think they actually want you to THINK it over and not have sex at all ... axe the birth control! Birth control!? Blasphemy! (I'm sensing religious connotations here).

What are they thinking over? It's not like most teen pregnancies are planned. Baby Use Some Birth Control would be better. You have a point there, but there are many that are naive or uneducated about using protection, abstinence or letting a guy manipulate them or pressure them into having sex, and everyone has needs, but it doesn't meant they are ready even if they believe they are. I remember clearly from sex ed a lot of people in class didn't believe having sex just once could result in a pregnancy, but it could. I find it disappointing to hear a lot of people who had the option of taking the doll didn't do it. I remember seeing the older kids do it when I was in my freshman year and knew I wanted to try it out too cause I used to want to get into ECE or teaching at the time and wanted kids when I grew up, and now, I definitely don't (not because of this) And LOL baby use some birth control, sounds like the next controversial doll. There's some controversy right now over a breast feeding doll in North America.

Kids play pretend with dolls all the time, I don't know how this one works, but I don't agree with turning it into something sinister when it's just breastfeeding

I was at CVS tonight and a high school girl in line ahead of me had one of the fake babies! It was in a car seat and she even had it covered up with a little blanket. Another girl spotted her and said "Oh, you've got the doll this week! When's the last time it cried?" She responded "about fifteen minutes ago." She seemed to be enjoying the attention she was getting by lugging the doll around.

^ I would have been super embarrased if it were me. I didn't like attracting attention to myself at that age!

That's cool that you've spotted one in action, as I've never seen one myself. So the baby cries 15 min ago, eh. Maybe we have the next Teen Mom: Janelle on our hands, haha.

It's like they see the babies as a fashion accessory with the way everyone makes a big deal every time a celeb or public figure is about to give birth
I found it annoying when I got all the attention and wanted to stay home the whole time though I didn't. The funny part is, I grew up to become an attention seeker, but a subtle one that likes to push buttons sometimes, though it's all harmless and not to spite anyone.

This book was eggs-actly what I needed to read in this heat. I never realized how very funny it is. One of my favorite parts is when Logan tells MA that to mark the baby, that afternoon they (MA and Logan) "will paint her (Sammie the egg) with food coloring." (Page 50) This made the scene when Nicky and Margo (loved the Pike kids' "marriages") dress their eggs in egg cups. I have never seen an egg cup but the description of the Pikes cups sound quite odd, a little scary, too! "Each egg cup was in the shape of a pair of crossed legs wearing blue pants. On the feet were polka- dotted socks and big red clown shoes." (Page 99). It was also great having a Bobby chapter, I really do like him overall in LS and wish we had seen more of his friendship (I like to believe he had) with Nancy. The other part that was so funny was when Logan suggested that maybe Claudia could baby-sit when he and MA went to the movies. That would have been hysterical, if they had called for an egg-sitter for lol if one of the older BSC member's school friends had called during a BSC meeting for a sitter!! Reminds me of when Karen wanted a sitter for Moosie and Goosie in Mary Anne vs. Logan.

I'm sure my favorite part of this book is what I remember as a starry-eyed Alan proclaiming he and Kristy had to name their egg Izzy because he always wanted a daughter named Izzy. I thought that was the cutest thing ever!

^That really was cute and sweet, too. I am not a big fan of the book "Stacey's Movie." I do remember Alan being a whole lot more concerned about the charges he and Kristy were filming than Kristy was. I do think deep down Alan really was a good guy. I wish we had gotten to read more about him and Kristy doing this eggs-periment. I don't think we ever read about Dawn and Aaron or Claudia and her un-mentioned husband either. I do understand this was a MA book.
