Mary Anne looks like she's in her mid 20's on the first cover.

That French cover looks like Mary Anne and Logan finding out their baby died. It's like that scene in Up.

I like Mary Anne's space buns. That is one hairstyle that they didn't embrace enough. Titles: Anne-Marie is full of arms (?) Inge and the twin babies Too many children for Mary Anne

This was just a weird one for me. Everyone took the egg thing WAY too seriously. I know they were supposed to but they're 13 and most 13 year olds would probably think treating an egg like a baby was lame.It would've been more realistic for some of the kids to blow it off and break an egg and other kids to take it more seriously. It was just weird that everyone in the class took it as seriously as Mary Anne did. She learned an important lesson but...yeah. Still weird. lol. I happen to like Mary Anne and Logan but hearing them call each other husband/wife was super weird to me, too. They're just so young. Was it typical to take a course like this in eighth grade? I took a course like this in high school. I think I was in tenth grade. Of course, I had one of those crying babies in this class I took and it wasn't for a month, just a weekend from what I recall. And that was long enough.

I had a really bad day so apologies if this post is way too negative.
This one was too ridiculous to me. I don't mind the BSC getting ridiculous or unrealistic at times (I mean, I love the Super Specials), but this was very OTT. There is no way 13 year olds would take this so seriously. They would carry the egg around school all day (just because they had to), then just forget about it once they get home. There would be no taking the egg to the movies (lol at that though). That's how the egg project went when I did it, but we only did this for a week. A month is way too long.
I'm not sure I remember getting "married." I know we paired up, but we absolutely did NOT have a wedding ceremony. Quite frankly, that's just stupid. Lol. And when we did budgeting, we had a fake salary to work with (I can't remember if it was a fixed amount or based on the job we picked, it was a long time ago). I just don't understand the way SMS does things. Maybe Stoneybrookites in general are a little odd... something in the water?
I don't buy Kristy talking to Alan Gray (I liked him in this book btw) for over 15 minutes while at a baby-sitting job. Nope. Didn't happen. Also, it was a bit irresponsible of Mary Anne to bring her egg on that sitting job and keep up the act. Holy crap Mary Anne, you're taking care of two actual infants, just leave the egg on a chair or somewhere safe and do your job. No one would ever know, if Logan (the weirdo) called and asked there's no way he could actually know what she's doing.
They wrote a THIRTY-TWO PAGE PAPER?! I never had to write anything that long in all my schooling, even college (I didn't go for a master's). It wasn't stated if that was required, but if it was, it was a ridiculous expectation for eighth grade. That's a TON of work they'd be given more than a month to write 32 pages. Heck, people take years to work on their thesis.
I absolutely despised writing essays, so I guess I just felt bad for these poor kids lol.
Mal's bacon joke was funny, the older sitters just took this project way too seriously.
Stacey was kind of a breath of fresh air.

I imagine the 32 pages included a lot of elaboration on how their “lives were changed.” Like, really repetitive. I bet Ms. Boyden didn’t even read it lol

I don't even know how they had enough material to fill 32 pages. I'm betting the paper was dreadfully boring lol. Plus, I guess when they split the work it isn't too bad.

My guess is a section for every day of the assignment. Day one, we took the baby shopping. Day two, I focused on homework while Logan gave it a bath. Even writing those two sentences felt so dull.

Ah, that makes sense. I would want to read that actually…to get a sense of where in the journey they began to have parental breakdowns

It occurred to me that Mary Anne gets both Too Many Babies and Too Many Boys. If you didn't know better, you would wonder about Mary Anne's personal life from those titles. Combined they would make a great episode of Maury.

Yeah they probably took all kinds of notes, so that doesn't sound too bad. Still likely overkill, but not the mini thesis statement my mind made it out to be lol. Yeah, and this one comes after too many boys. Maybe they should've thought these titles through. The "+2" thing always felt too cutesy for me.
