^That's a good point, Starrynight and everyone else , it should have been. I have never read the CA Diaries but from many of you it really does sound like once Dawn was in CA for good (for the final time) she truly did forget about Mary Anne. To me, the main thing was an undercurrent of nastiness possibly combined with bitterness on MA's part in regard to Dawn. I'm not sure how to explain other than to say, unlike Claudia who may have never before (or since) had a bff other than Stacey, MA did in Kristy. MA immediately dumped Kristy for Dawn and once that truly took affect as the Series progressed, I got the impression that MA might have cared more about hanging onto Dawn (her one selected friend) than Dawn herself. That could explain (in part) some of our feelings about MA/Dawn. I have to admit that on my current zillionth re-read, I am liking MA less. Lol, I still hold Abby/Dawn at the "bottom" but MA is just standing out more (right now) as not being a very nice person.

Dawn would freak out if she found out about that.

I hate the names Clover and Daffodil...I know their parents were hippies, but I've never been a fan of giving kids odd names. I've met some kids over the years with awful names and I always wonder what their parents were thinking! Like this one girl I met a few years ago whose first name was Sparkles. Yes, that was her actual name! It was on her school ID and everything. Did anyone else think it was unrealistic that Jeff took so many photos of Dawn? Two entire rolls or something? I can't imagine a nine-year-old boy wanting THAT many pictures of his sister, even if he missed her. Pictures of the two of them together, yeah. But not just of Dawn by herself. Who else remembers when you had to be more selective in your photography so you didn't waste all your film? I do love now that you can take several shots of something with a digital camera until you get it the way you want.

The idea of film being "developed" will be foriegn to our children.

I don't have to remember because I still use my old film camera ;D I've had to deal with some incompetent photo places who apparently forgot how to develop, but I love the results of shooting with film and toy cameras.

^Yes, plastic bodies, minimal controls (no focus or zoom), produce low quality images (graininess, light leaks).

Candykane, I thought it was scary and quite odd how Jeff used so many rolls of film on his sister. Maybe one of his friends had a crush on Dawn or something? It also seemed odd at how closesly he followed her around at times. It was great he was happy to see her, but he was a 9 year old boy. Only thing I can think of is maybe he thought if the three of them were a happy family, somehow that would translate into Sharon and Jack remarrying. Like Sharon would find out and want to be apart of it instead of by herself in CT.
A couple weeks ago I called around to find out how much it would cost to develop pictures from a disposable camera. I was shocked at the price (and that some places don't even do that anymore) since I'm used to sending digital pictures to Target.com.

At the Target I took it too, not bad at under $5. I had also called CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, all who wanted at least $10. The Target closest to me doesn't even develop film anymore so I had to take the camera elsewhere.

He WAS just excited to see her, and that was his way of showing it, 9 years old or not.

Oh I should not have read this book! I have been toying with the idea of moving to California an it did not help! I love the weather and the food described in this book!
Once again, Dawn frustrates me. She is hugging her mom on the bed before she leaves saying, "I'll never leave you mom" then 5 days later she is ready to peace out. I dunno, I guess I just don't like wishywashy. I'm sure deep down she wanted to move back before her vacation.
