I don't remember having any favorites among the BSC books that mention Christmas when I was a kid, but I did have the BSC Christmas episode on video which I loved and watched about a million times. I loved the Secret Santa part, I loved when they went shopping, and I loved how angsty it felt when Stacey ended up in the hospital, since Stacey was my favorite at the time and I wanted to live vicariously through her, and so it seemed cool to get so much attention and sympathy.

My favorite BSC Christmas book is Karen's Sleigh Ride. As for Christmas books in general, I love Jan Brett's children's books. Especially "The Christmas Trolls." I also love "Treasures of the Snow" by Patricia St. John.

One of my very favorite Bobbsey Twin books is their "Wonderful Winter Secret" which is a surprise Christmas gift for their parents. I am editing this two years later to say I think my favorite Christmas BSC book are the Mary and pageant parts of Christmas Chiller and all of the Christmas LS books except I'm not a big fan of Karen's Reindeer.

My favorite Christmas book that's not a BSC book is Mick Foley's Christmas Chaos. I'll have to think what my favorite BSC Christmas book is.

wow, finally someone else in the world other than my family that knows this video!!!
till this day my dad quotes penny crying about timmy's christmas present and think it's heartless that she wasn't given extra money, though I think the story taught a good lesson about how it's not all about presents but a time to be together
I remember the activity book that came with the vhs, and thought wrapping small gifts in a crepe paper ball was so neat, but never got a chance to try it. Also making presents like pencil cups and painted pasta necklaces, just like in Karen's Grandmothers when they visited the nursing home. I thought baby sister was so sweet.
The only thing I didn't like about big for christmas is how they acted like Lila and the other girls were much older than the twins. If it was okay they were going to the party, the parents could have contaced the other 6th graders parents, or set a curfew for them and making sure one of the parents responsibly brings them home so they go home before the older kids. I can't remember if janet's parents were going to be home or not, but if not, then I sort of see a concern too.

I love A Christmas Carol. I also love "Twas The Night Before Christmas" in its various picture book formats. It's silly, but my favorite picture book version of it is "Garfield's Night Before Christmas," starring Garfield the cat!
