Hehe I found these clips on YouTube of the Peter Pan play starring Mary Martin that Jessi watches in the book with Squirt and the version SMS/SES/SHS performed. It made me laugh as I'm imagining Kristy, Dawn, Stacey and Sam playing the roles ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s3VfxCYqXs

I just finished reading this for the first time, and the Jessi chapters sure were hilarious.
Jessi: Omg! I have been in like, 3 ballet productions, and that automatically makes me a triple threat. Rest of the BSC: Uh... Jessi: I'm gonna be Peter Pan! Director: Kristy is Peter Pan. Jessi: What?! But I have been on stage before! That practically makes me a Tony Award winner! You are racist!
Anyway, this one was okay. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't one of my favorite SS. I think I enjoyed it because I like theatre and the play Peter Pan. Now I want to go watch it...

Hehe I found these clips on YouTube of the Peter Pan play starring Mary Martin that Jessi watches in the book with Squirt and the version SMS/SES/SHS performed. I taped that off the TV when I was younger. I can't remember if it was because of this book or just because I like Peter Pan. Actually, it might have been because of Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great. They do that play at camp, right? I forgot all about that part of the book until just now.

^ I had forgotten about Peter Pan that was on TV. Maybe I saw and taped the same one as you, wanderingfrog ;D I always remember this when Jessi watches it in this book. My aunt also directed the play (or maybe just did the hair, can't remember anymore) when I was little. I was obsessed with it for a while ;D But now I can't think of Peter Pan without thinking of this book. ;D

^ Was this the one where Cokie got the closet for a dressing room? That always made me laugh ;D What was her part, anyway?

Yeah, it was. She was playing Tiger Lily.

^ Thanks. I was thinking Dawn was Tiger Lily but now remember that she wanted to be but became Wendy instead. Then she was all mad because Wendy sewed for Peter and took care of the lost boys so she tried to change her lines ;D She really annoyed me with that, though.

Dawn actually annoyed me too slightly with that. I could understand where she was coming from, but I felt she was a bit over the top.

^ Same here. It's the only part of the book that I don't really like. I'm glad they don't drag it on for too long, though. That would've been tiresome.
Great recap of the Jessi chapters, lark! ;D

I always saw Dawn's behavior as her way of trying to get herself recast since she didn't want such a big role in the first place.

^ I never thought of it that way but maybe that was a subconscious motive. I always assumed it was Dawn going off on another one of her idealistic crusades but maybe she did want to get kicked out of her role. Interesting thought.

i was never a really big fan of this book, though i enjoy cokie's chapter. I love that she mentioned that she and Grace were obsessed with General Hospital. I used to watch it, too

^ I did too and now I'm getting back into it ;D All My Children has been "my" show since I was 4. Used to rush home from kindergarten to watch it ;D I missed that mention of GH. Was it in Cokie's chapter? I might need to reread this one soon, or at least the funny parts ;D
