I see what you did there, virgoscorpio... well played! I think Karen might be bothered by the K variant spelling. She'd probably prefer Chloe.

^ i am bothered by the spelling too. i can't stand people who insist of giving their kids names that are spelled with crazy letters. if it needs modification before you feel comfortable attaching your kid to it for life, then just pick a different name.

This reminds me of Whoopi Goldberg who said on the View recently that names should be spelled out how they sound phonetically. The problem is, that sometimes makes for really funny spelling. For example, my cousin has a daughter Sabrynah and I still, to this day, don't know if it's pronounced "Sabrina" or "Sab-rye-(like the bread)-nah".

I thought Khloe with a K was a legit spelling of the name. Like Catherine/Katherine. There's a difference between using an alternate, less common spelling and pulling a spelling out of your ass like virgoscorpio's cousin did (no offense, of course ).

^ Of course. I think it's a bit odd, too. Good thing I'm not close with her anymore or else I wouldn't know how to pronounce the name.

All your stories are reminding me of a time my mom took us to a kids kuts we didn't normally go to and they gloriana-d all 3 of us! My hair was totally chopped up and both my brothers were bald!
I felt so bad for Karen in this book. Her hair looked awful and the kids were awful to her, but I loved that she took the makeup and stuff too a whole new level! what a kid

One of my favorites too i did feel bad for Karen but i was surprised that her school let her wear makeup i guess anything is possible in bsc land When I was in Elementary school I went through a couple week phase where I started wearing a ridiculous amount of makeup for no reason whatsoever, like heavy amounts bright purple lipstick and so much blush I looked like a china doll. even the other kids were concerned about it "Uhhh Mrs.A? She's wearing too much lipstick!" "Uhhh Mrs.A? she shouldn't do that, is something wrong with her?" but the teachers never seemed to care. and I had a very loving teacher, very much like Ms. Colman. Maybe Ms.Colman Just took it as another Karen phase and shrugged it off.

^ ROTFL Is this her middle school years? I remember wearing those glasses back in the 80's. (The big frames.)
I notices my name Melissa is spell different ways. Malissa, Mellissa, Mellisa, Milissa, & so on. You get the idea. But my parents like the original way. So do I.
