So... the club was basically pointless, though i felt bad that they were too young! Lol about that old lady who couldn't read.

Haha, I felt so bad for them when the lady was like oh you guys aren't 16, 17, and 18?
The illustrations of Pat the Cat are so cute! Hannie has reddish hair on the cover which is kinda weird, but I thought Amanda's outfit on the cover was the coolest thing ever when I was seven.

This book is one of my favorite early books. I thought the kittycat club was cute and found it cool that Karen tried to run it like Kristy ran the BSC (love the picnic lunch Kristy and Karen have at the beginning where Kristy tells Karen about how the BSC was formed) ;D. I felt bad for Nancy though because Karen wouldn't let her join the club due to the fact that she had no cat. I also lol'd at the lady who couldn't read (aren't you 16, 17 and 18? lol). The best part of the whole book was when Pat the Cat got pissed and pulled a chunk of fur out of Priscilla's (aka the $400 cat) tail and Amanda acted like the world had ended or something lol. Was this the book where at the end, Karen starts the Fun Club?

^ This was the Fun Club book. I wonder what ever happened to that. Was it ever mentioned again? I seem to remember another reference. I also love the thing about Pat and Priscilla. Any books with Priscilla or Boo Boo make me laugh. ;D

I love Priscilla the 400-dollar cat, especially now that I have two Persians of my own. I got both for free, but one of them would've been worth far more than Priscilla (maybe Priscilla in the 2007 economy?) if he'd not been a sick kitten unsuitable for life as a show cat. Selfishly I'm glad he was, because he's the best cat ever. And every time my mother tells people how much he's "worth," I want to call her Amanda, but I know she wouldn't get the joke.
Pat the Cat sounded so cute. I love kittens.

^ I love kittens, too, and the Karen kitten books always make me want to cuddle one. ;D Then when I actually get near one, though, I decide I don't want anything to do with them. Not sure why - maybe because I'm slightly allergic to cats now and also because I usually feel pressed for time when I'm in the barn and don't feel like getting clawed. ;D Another example, though, of the BSC/LS books inspiring me to do something I don't follow through on. ;D

^ This was the Fun Club book. I wonder what ever happened to that. Was it ever mentioned again? I seem to remember another reference. Yeah, it was mentioned in the next book, Karen's School Picture at the beginning when Karen has a headache and Lisa tells her, "You are very busy, you have homework now and meetings of the Fun Club," But that was the only other time I remember it being mentioned.

^ That's the mention I was thinking of, too. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't last since clubs do have trouble surviving even when they do have a point (which that one really didn't though it was a good try on Karen's part. ;D)

Yeah I agree. The Fun Club basically had no purpose at all; to me it was just a bunch of kids hanging out and goofing off but it was cool anyway. ;D When I was in grade school it was the "in" thing to either start a club or try to get yourself into one (there were many clubs that my classmates started ranging from "The Girl's Club" to "The Sport-Lovers Club" lol) and they never lasted longer than a week.

When I was little I thought the Fun Club sounded boring I was also a little annoyed by Nancy making a big deal of Karen not letting her in the club. Now, though, I totally see her point. Of course she could cat-sit even if she didn't have a cat. Poor thing, she was like "Well can I bring Moosie or Goosie to the meetings?" and Karen was like, no you cannot because they are not real. Meanie Karen!

^ I do feel a little bad for Nancy but she always seems to make such a big deal out of "not being invited" that I don't feel too much sympathy for her. I had a friend who was really annoying with that - you had to ask her SPECIFICALLY and invite her to go everywhere or she would pout and say she wasn't invited. I think that's what I relate Nancy to in situations like this (even though she's not that bad) and it skews my perception.

Yeah, she did tend to do that, but it's a fairly normal reaction to expect from a seven year old I think.

^ Agree about Nancy. Unfortunately, it persisted with my friend until into her teens - very annoying. ;D Hopefully Nancy will outgrow her tendency to do that but I'm sure she will. I do like Nancy. ;D

I always laughed at the fact that the lady thought the girls were 16,17,18.
The Fun club sounded a lot like a club my friend tried to start when I was that age.
